Money has a very large impact on career choices- especially based on the consumer culture we live in- we have wants and although we may not have the means to sustain such wants, we convert them into material necessities. (look at Europe and the fact modesty is the best way to express wealth- rather than the obssessions with possessions that are pushing us further into debt as individual American citizens and as a nation as a whole). So indeed it is pretty awesome to be a big business executive who owns numerous luxury and sports vehicles, but passion for your job is also rather important. I don't know if you read that statististic about a slight majority of Americans being unhappy about their jobs. It is a hard sell to make0- on one level, so many are struggling to acheive the American dream which is slowly becoming harder to do due to the fact the gap between rich and poor is increasing severely and will sooner or later come to a head when the economy crashes due to the high amount of debt (our country is running on empty in case you didn't know) so MANY people focus on the economics of career choices (going to law or medical school rather than pursuing a job they enjoy let's say), but this puts us at a disadvanteg because rates of depression are increasing thanks to job unhappiness. It's a hard choide to make that begins before students enter college. You look at extravagent lifestyles- figure out how to attain success and work to obtain it for personal and family happiness desipte the fact it's not necessarily enjoyable. The real question in the end is- do we sacrifice happiness for financial security (although many 'middle class' americans still live paycheck to paycheck- those mercedes benz car payments are astronomical) or take one for the team and ensure mental stability for the almighty American dollar (and face debt and further financial insecurity)- we live in a great country huh?

Money should not be the most important thing. Many people who go that route wind up feeling unsatisfied in their jobs, and end up switching careers. Go with something that pays well, and interests you enough that you won't become bored with it too quickly. Also, if you don't like high-stressed environments, don't pick a high-stress career, etc. If there won't be enough demand for your chosen profession, it's probably not going to help you get a career going; i.e., don't pick a career that's going to be, or nearly is obsolete. A little research into what a career entails can help you make a decision much quicker.
Of course, this doesn't answer your question exactly, but it's what I felt like saying.
That's my two cents for ya.

NO- % something you are able to desire to do for loose for the the remainder of your life. money is a great perk besides the fact that if it won't make your activity less demanding and rigidity in the region of work can kill you slowly with the aid of the years. Ulcers, heartburn, insomnia, coronary heart assaults, strokes can all be rigidity correct. in case you % a profession which you would be prepared to accomplish for the the remainder of your life for loose then you certainly would be a happier and greater healthy guy or woman. Then get in there carry out to the main suitable of your skill and in time the money will come. greater effective yet you are able to project on your man or woman and set your man or woman income. happy everybody isn't neccessarily the richer people.

I do not believe that money is the only thing you need to consider when choosing a career. The first thing you should consider is "will the carreer that I am choosing make me happy"? if you are not happy in your choice then the money will not make you happy? You also need to look at the need for people in this field, there is little point in going into a carreer if you are not going to be able to find a job after you graduate. And the last thing I look at is if there are any jobs in your area that you will be going to school for and if not would I be willing to move.

Hope this helps!

nope, i became a nurse because i wanted to help people and at the time I was 5 years old and i was not thinking about money. If i was thinking about money i guess i would have been a dentist, as they make an absolute fortune in just 15 minutes!!! But, I cannot stand looking into peoples mouths so i would not be happy and so the money would not compensate...or maybe it would, because id need to be on drugs to be able to perform the job, and that would require the money i would make to support it..then it'd be a catch 22 situation wouldnt it!!!

When I was younger, yes money was the most important thing. And I made a lot of it. And if you can - do the same so that when you are older, you can relax and work at a job that you truly enjoy, which probably will pay a lot less money.

I'd much rather have a job I love, than a job I hate which pays a lot of money.

No! You need to be happy with whatever you decide to do. What good is money if you're miserable every day?
