Hello!
Has anyone taken the Penn Foster Wildlife/Forestry Conservation "career diploma" course? Was it worth it? Did it assist you in finding employment?
Thanks!

I'm actually sending in my application tomorrow for the Veterinary Technology program. However, as with any of these online degree programs I'm a little bit worried to the validity of this course.

I did notice that my program was accredited by the AVMA, but I have yet to meet any graduates of the program in order to validate it further. In fact, I have yet to meet any actual* Penn Foster graduates altogether here and in my searches online.

All I have found in my searches were unproven claims and links to a group on Yahoo. I've yet to hear back from this Penn Foster Yahoo group.

Being that I am currently 6mos. pregnant and unable to attend University (I was an MSU Animal Sciences major), I figured this course may be a good alternative.

If you like, feel free to add me to your friends/contact list and I'll let you know as I find out more information about the program/school.

~Regards.

Call your County Parks and Recrecation Dept. Tell them you are considering a career in Conservation and would like to talk to their Educational Outreach Coordinator. Make an appointment to talk to that person about a career. Mention the diploma and see what they say. Probably need a "real" degree. But ask them what you would need to do to get into the career and what they like/don't like about career. Maybe some tips from experience?

What you want is credits that will be accepted and a degree or diploma that will be recognized by institutions and many regular schools don't recognize correspondence courses since some of the schools arent accredited nationally or at the state level.
