lately i have been imagining everyone around me wants to kill me. like, i think my parents are lacing my food and ice in the fridge & if someone asks me to come over, my 1st thought is that they want to slit my throat & bury me in their backyard. i'm scared to hang out with people sometimes. could this be because i smoke weed? or am i becoming schizophrenic?

WOW, you answered yourself. Too much weed in the system will cause paranoia. Lay off the smoke for a while and see how you feel.......if that doesn't work GET HELP! ! !

Go to your family doctor and get a referral to a psychiatrist as soon as possible...I'm not joking here....you are not in a good place right now and you need help...whatever is causing this paranoia is up to a professional to assess and treat. There does seem to be some scientific data which suggests a potential correlation between cannabis use and the onset of clinical schizophrenia...but neither you nor me is in a position to make a diagnosis...but good that you have recognized that something's not right...Now take the next step and seek help! Important: If you feel increasingly overwhelmed or that you are on the verge of harming yourself or someone else close to you, either get in touch with a distress line (can be found in the phonebook) or go directly to the ER!

Paranoia can be from a couple of things. Skizophrenia and Bipolar Illness both has paranoia as a symptom. Also using drugs and even alcohol can cause paranoia. If you are doing drugs you need to be aware that they will cause paranoia and other symptoms that will not ever go away. Most marijuana you get is already laced with some kind of drug and both of those points could cause this.
If I were you I would track your symptoms on a calender or in a journal. And I would go to your doctor and discuss this with him. This could be the beginning stages of skizophrenia and if you catch that early enough with meds you will be fine.

You are not becoming Schizophrenic from the websites I've read. I do know that smoking weed leads to paranoid feelings, thus stop smoking weed.

Like everyone here says, smoking weed is NOT good!
It makes everything 1000% worse, and you are paying money to feel this way. Stop doing drugs and take care of your self and seek some kind of drug rehab or mental health!

I smoke weed and I don't feel like that.. I feel like beating someone up! lolz.. Dang girl.. Make sure they aint lacing your weed... and also stop smoking weed for like a month and see if its the weed... Cuz thats usually the case for people who cant handle the chron! something with the chemical imbalance in the brain.. and what not..

See a psychiatrist immediately (you can even tell about the weed to them since they can't legally reveal information about yourself not even for drug use). Because by law psychiatrist have to keep everything confidential. SO SEE A PSYCHIATRIST PLEASE!

You are feeling the power of the group. Being an outcast is easy enough until you want to be apart of the winner/players. They have tried to train you to their ways but you are too independent . Beware of the great pressure that can be developed . Suicide is group murder.
