Since you are the one inviting him, etiquette demands that you ask him what he would like to have and not force you're likes on him. Be a good host and ask him, its the simplest and best thing to do under the circumstances. Also if you're friend is a good guest his etiquette will be to ask you in turn what you would be having. You may then decide mutually on what to have and that does not need to be the same thing for you both also.

When you invite a friend, he is your guest. So generally , you offer a guest his preferred food or drink. but, as a friend, you can offer him to taste what you like. a change is always good. Maybe in future his taste and yours will become the same.

I OFFER MY CUP OF TEA TO HIM AND HOLD THE BIG GLASS OF LASSI IN MY HAND. WHEN HE LOOKS AT MY GLASS OF LASSI EAGERLY, I OFFER EXCHANGING IT WITH CUP OF TEA. THAT WAY BOTH OF US WILL BE HAPPY IN THE END.

He is your guest and following the principle Athithi Devo Bhava, I will buy him what he likes and have a taste also of the same . Maybe it could turn out to be a welcome change for me!!! The guest's comfort is of utmost priority.
