Yes, Spanish is the second most commonly spoken language in the United States. Even though English is the most common, the U.S. actually has no official language.

Spanish is the second major language in the US. The US has no "official" language but the government has always used English. Someone could easily get by in America if they can speak and read Spanish. In The city of Miami Spanish is major language and English is second.

We live in Canada and the second language is French. The minority in Quebec
rules.
