The answer is the same reason all other religions are the true religions. Originally the Early Christians came up with this idea to force others to convert and to gain obedience. Up until recently tolerance of others religions was not a practiced concept. Essentially this belief is a reminisce of antiquated tradition. Personally I believe that believing that any religion is the one true religion is rediculious. Everyone should have their own religious beliefs and respect others as well.

It is the only religion with The perfect Word that dove tails in perfect continuity. Taking 66 books written over 2500 years by numerous God-sent man. However, just as it took men inspired to write the books, in like manner, the reader must also be Holy spirit led to believe and understand. Hence the reason for so much conflict. Most that read are not led by the Holy Spirit and cannot understand. This sets forth the doctrine of blessing and cursing within The Book.

Because

1) Christians need to justify their religion to be legal and correct.

2) Christians need to uglify and conquer other religions.

3) Not yet meet or ignore the better ones for reason 1 & 2

4) The Bible said so and people brain wash others to believe.

5) The 'God' will destroy you if you protest.

Religion is a link between us and God.It makes us to love God and mankind.Religion is there from the beging of human race and individual loves their own religion and it is same time true to them selves.Telling one religion true means pointing others not to be true.
Christianity is hardly few thousands years old ,as others are. Before that religion was there.
Can I say why my mothers loves me truly while others' mother does not love her kids not truly ?All religions are true it depends how a person takes the religion to the reality of his or her life.

To be a christian means to follow Christ. Jesus lived his life doing the Father's will, not his own. He was unique in all of human history as he was the fulfillment of the prophecies concerning the one who would overcome this world. We are not of this world and under the rulers of the darkness of this world because we live as followers of Christ.

The above links are to articles that explain in detail each one. The following one describes & compares them both:
