Ever since I can remember I've never wanted to sleep in the night. Night just seems the time to be awake for me. It's daytime I want to sleep.

This isn't new. I've been doing this since I can remember.

Why?

Because some people just need to turn their hours around. You will probably have success in doing so by using Melatonin supplements. These are over-the-counter sleep aids, found in the vitamin aisle. People who work rotating shifts, and people with jet lag have used these successfully.

You can also drink Chamomile Tea
Use lavender candles or incense (aromatherapy for relaxation)
Learn to meditate (to clear the mind)
Take a warm bath about an hour before you want to sleep
Drink warm milk before sleep

Do not use any caffeine after lunchtime (if you use it at all--there is caffeine in chocolate and cola, too)
Do not eat anything heavy after 5-6PM

These methods have helped me, and others I know, to sleep at night. I hope that you will try some, as I'm sure there are things you need to be awake for during the day. Get some sleep!

Yes, some people are born nocturnal. There's nothing wrong with that, it's getting society to admit that which is the problem. Some people have different "Circadian" rhythm's. Not everyone operates on a 24-hour schedule. Not everyone operates on a 9-5 schedule. Pick the schedule that most satisfies you, that gives you the most productivity. Beware of adherence to "classical" schedules as sometimes that's the most opportune time to discuss projects with co-workers. That said, you should be allowed to work the hours in which you are the most porductive. Good luck!

Try taking Melatonin at night. Melatonin is a neurotransmitter that normalizes your sleep patterns. You can get it at you local pharmacy or grocery store over the counter. The effects won't happen the first use but works after you continuously use it at night. Then you will wake in the day and sleep at night again.

This is a real situation and I have been there a lot. Only when I had a love partner did my aura change to allow me to be wide awake in the normal hours. I now simply accept the power of the auras of the community and allow myself the time when my aura is stronger to be my waking hours. It works great but will take some scheduling of time.

For sometime now, i have been working late at nights more often than during the day. I think its because at night i am not surrounded by people and that way i am not conscious of other people i.e what they think or if i am sharing resources with them for which i have to wait for example the autoclave etc. This way i can commit to my task 100% and don't think of smaller things getting in the way. even if i am not working on my experiments at night, and if i have been working on other things during the day, I work on my thesis and protocols for the next experiments at night since i feel i am creatively best at night.

I don't know why, but I can relate. The same thing is true for me. There are plenty of times where I am tired all day, but when night comes I'm up until 2.

Yes, some people are just wired that way. I've always been like that too. In fact, that's why I'm up right now at 3 am answering these questions! LOL

some people are just reversed like that. You can train yourself to get on the right cycle though. If it bothers you ask the doc.

good luck.. sleep well!
