I am going through major battles both in my life and spiritually. I feel that it is just too much to bear sometimes. All this has left me cold and numb despite reaching out to God. I feel that His spirit just isnt with me anymore and I am almost out of hope. I have a lot to live for but am going through torure inside. I dont kow what is wrong. I say and do things that just arent me. Please pray for healing. I feel that God cant use me. I cant be holy and good for very long no matter how much I pray and fellowship and spend time in the word. I feel that I am dried up inside. This is not just a phase either. I have been feeling like this a long time. I dont want to give up but I need constant encouragement just to barely make it.

DON"T GIVE UP!!!! God doesn't choose the qualified..He qualifies the chosen...so yes he can use you...and He will...in fact He already has!!...just think by writing this question you may have inspired someone who is feeling the same way you are to reach out for help the way you are...they might have thought they were alone in their battle..but now they know they are not...we cannot and Will never be perfect...so you are on the same quest we all are...think about where Jesus spent His life...not with those who had problem free and socially correct lives..He spend it with the prostitutes and sinners that needed Him...Have you thought about maybe getting some medical help? there are great medications for depression if you are suffering from it...millions of Americans do suffer rom it...you are not alone....You re in my prayers! Its a phase. Thats most likely the last thing you wanted to hear and it sounds insulting I'm sure. I had a period like this. Lasted about three years where everyday I struggled not to step in front of a bus. The only thing that stopped me was thinking of my dad having to identify the body or not having a body to bury.
Shoot, it still sucks sometimes. I had to make a lot of changes. The people I hung out with, job, hours I kept, the food that I ate. It was scary as all heck.
One thing that made things more bearable was making a gratitude list of 25 things everynight. Yeah, the first 6 are a real bear, but it helps even if it takes time.
Talk to someone of another faith maybe it would help.
I think you have to be drained sometimes to realize that you are plugged in.
Good Luck

Fear not my friend, the Lord resides within you. God is with you. If the Lord be with you who can be against you? Reading the word and praying to Him who gave you life is more important then ever, now. God loves you. Yes, God is chastising you now, but after this season He has plans to lift you up; to refine you. Hold fast to God's truth. Look to Him...you are His. Will you break? Stop complaining! Run the race, complete the race, God has something glorious for you in mind you can't comprehend. Seek Him always, despite your hurt.

Jeremiah 29:11-13
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.
And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Sometime when I am feeling lost, I go to the nearest forest or woods, a quiet place a waterfall a river sit on a stone, even the wind has something to share, and so do you, I think like a lot of others on this planet you are not sure what your purpose is, you feel like bashing your head against a wall! Never give up still feeling sorry for yourself go to the nearest Hospital and volunteer in the children's ward!

Blessing now and always.

I'm wondering how much time and energy that you are putting into your relationship with GOD... do you even have a relationship with GOD? There is only one way to have a relationship with GOD and that is thru JESUS CHRIST HIS SON. Have you made JESUS LORD of your life? Are you spending time in prayer? are you spending time in HIS word?
are you attending services regularly? If you stop eating food what happens to your body after a couple of days? you get weaker and weaker don't you. Reading the word, prayer and attending services regularly is food for your spirit... if you are neglecting these things then the way you say you are feeling is just the result of poor spiritual nutrition. Here is my advice get in your prayer closet and seek GOD earnestly with tears and repentance and don't come out till GOD shows up.
~MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND KEEP YOU FROM THE EVIL ONE SAFE AND SOUND IN HIS LOVING EMBRACE~

God can DEFINITELY use you! He can use anyone and everyone!! Satan loves to tell people that they are useless and are no longer worth anything. He wants you to feel that way and to not do anything.

We can try our best to be holy and good all the time... and it is very important that we try, but know that you can never be perfect. Jesus was perfect and we should strive to be that way, but the reason Jesus came to Earth is because we AREN'T perfect.
Romans 3:23 says: For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
We aren't perfect and we never can be.
In the Old Testament you can see how they would sacrifice lambs or goats for their sins. Because of their sin, a sacrifice had to be made. That is the same for us today! BUT luckily for us, Jesus died on the cross to be our sacrifice. HE is our sacrifice for our past, present and future sins. ("for the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord - Romans 6:23)

That's why it says in Romans 10:9 - "that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." That is what it means to be a believer.

Ask yourself if you have ever really made that decision to turn away from your sins and follow Christ... that doesn't mean that you will never sin again... it means that you have made the decision to follow Christ and do everything you can to honor Him in all of the decisions that you make.
If you have made that decision, one thing that can really make you feel alive again is to share with someone else how they can know Jesus. We were created to share and to give Glory to God! What's more exciting than giving God glory!!

I will pray for you! Get your encouragement from the Bible and from God - don't rely on other people for this. :) Jesus loves you and has a plan for your life!

Just peek a little further into the middle-distance and see that reality is beckoning. Grasp it, welcome it and your life will change for the better

Dispose of the god concept, as it is merely confusing you. Face it, god does not exist save in the imagination of the gullible.
Accept reality, turn your thoughts into actions that will turn your life around. Make the most of the opportunities and make this one and only life that you will ever get the best that it can be. It will take strength of character. Do you have that?

where to start.... I am going to wing it , AND TRUST GOD to guide what I share. All things happen for a reason, and my FAITH says to give you this.

Doubting FAITH once you have experienced the JOY of having FAITH will bring depression in magnitudes .
People of Faith are hurt by others that are hurtful or mean , sometimes we take others meanness personal .
You must know that depression lurks in the part of our brain that gets damaged by the actions of others TO US. Actions that hurt us to the core since CHILDHOOD, pain that WE have to face and overcome. Never understanding HOW another person could CHOOSE to hurt us so. ALL of our lives, UNLESS we make sense of our pain, we can NOT improve. We change into worried, hurting sad people with out the energy to make a difference in AnYoNeS lives. Not even our own life or those that mean the most to us.
Eventually this lurking black shadow of hurt~ deadens our perspective and small things like a negative comment or even our FAVORITE tv show being canceled is enough to make us cry. When we can cry no more~ WE TURN NUMB , and OUR guilt of "HURTING OTHERS" by behaving this way becomes TOO MUCH to bare.
EVEN the sunny warm days of spring seem like the blackest saddest night... foggy, uncomfortable with no place to hide,we lose hope of EVER feeling better. THE REMORSE of OUR behaviour sickens us to our center.
IT is NOT a conscious process... it is a creepy crawly body encompassing sad sad GUILTY mood that seems to push down on our bodies. OUR bodies start to feel pain more acutely and MORE often.
Eventually WE start to think we would be doing EVERYONE a favor if we were just GONE. There is no joy to be had at this point, ~EVERYTHING seems like a clue or a message, a "sign" ~as to what to do to fix the problem....NO joy to be had EXCEPT for the JOY we feel when clarity of THIS decision to end life feels like the ONLY way to go. ?A BLESSED ENDING? because we are HELPING OTHERS if we do it... NO!
The decision FEELS like the most brilliant IDEA ever on the planet... HELPING THOSE we LOVE , to be free of the burden of US????... BUT more selfishly.... HELPING ourselves to relieve the GUILT of hurting others.
OUR burdens are our own, and no other person will ever be able to help "us". Only we may make the choice to ask God for strength.

I pray this early A.M. That God hear your weakened voice, hear the voice of all that pray for peace of mind and comfort for our aching souls, PLEASE dear God, hear the need for reassurance that is asked for . We ask this Dear Jesus because YOU are the truth. WHen others work against Gods words our strength is diminished, but YOU are strong enough to rid us of opponents to YOUR LOVE for US.
ThankYOU GOD for NEVER LIEING. Thank YOU for bringing me to ANSWERS tonight and for answering this prayer for THIS person,
In Jesus NAME.
Debra
