band is one of the coolest things you could do in high school, if you like it, you get to play an intrument and get a good great. But people that don't know anything about it thinks its stupid cause we wear what they think stupid outfits, (which I think are awesome)
I either think they were in band at one time, and think that all we do is playing the insturment, and that people in band are totally different people (not a family), like it was in middle school. and they still think its stupid, the exact smae thing in high school,
or...
people never joined band at all, and they see how much fun we get to have, and we get to do the chicken dance on the field, and are jealous maybe...
or...
most of the people in the band are like everyone else, so they belong, but there are 1 or 2 people that don't realy belong, and don't hang out in the band room at lunch. those kind of people that aren't in band don't c the fun in it, and what it does for you...

Band was the best part of my high school experience. I have had the privilege to be in a band consisting of 40 members or so to a band well over 180. Small bands have a certain family feeling to them. You know everyone in the band and usually get along great with them. Then on the bigger side of things the bigger band I was in was amazing. The synergy between all of the sections were amazing and the strength we had when we all came together and put our hearts into just made it that much better. I ALSO have been in the situation where no one else in the school appreciated what we did. Forget them as long as you feel like you need to be there and you lve being there that's all that matters. Towards the end of my years in High school though the rest of my school started to feel that synergy that i was talking about and we all pretty much mended during football games and during competitions. Just think about having a few hundred of your kids from school that you would never think would be there showing up at a competition. Just enjoy what you do and that's the bottom line. why be concerned about what other people think. Besides the people in band are usually the wildest people in school any way. Unfortunately this won't be disclosed until 5 years after your graduation.

well i know plenty of people who like it i loved being in i just hated the highschool band director and it wasnt just me its a large school of 5000 and only like 100 kids are in it when we had 100 8th graders that were in band but only like 15 went on into highschool because they had a special connection to him everyone else hated his guts even his best students
