The majority of people do not see their own nose unless looking in a mirror...or crossing their eyes...just as many people fail to notice their own failings but see them in those they are looking at. Jesus taught us to take the plank out of our own eye before we try to get the speck out of our neighbor's eye...it means that we have to 'start with the man' or woman in the mirror. If we want to make the world a better place we've got to change that man in the mirror...hmm this sounds like an old Michael Jackson song doesn't it?

I have never accused a Christian of being pretentious, and in all the postings I have read, I have never seen an atheist call a Christian pretentious (till now) - Do you have an example that we can all read?

Why are atheists here? To debate religion of course - isn't that why you are here? To put your 2 cents across. If you are so safe in your faith and love of God, do you really need to see what us nasty, pretentious atheists are writing about him.

Self-righteousness stems from pride. That can cause anyone to become condescending, whether Christian, atheist, Muslim, Satanist, pedestrian, democrat, pacifist, pornographers, etc. Whenever anybody gets on here to make a comment, if they do not take a 100% objective view, they will end up seeming like that.

I don't understand what an atheist could have to be pretentious about. I don't care if you are a Christian or not.

I try not to be pretentious. I just try to believe in things that I can observe. I don't care what other people do or do not believe in as long as they don't knock on my door on Sunday morning and try to save my soul.

Is that pretentious ???

A-theist means no-God, they know nothing about God and
they admit it. So in actuality they are fools. Ps. 14:1.
Their holiday is coming up on April 1.

Only GOD knows.
I often wonder why they spend so much time debating their belief in unbelief. Its a big ol' oxymoron. Makes no sense to me.
I have no doubt that athiesm is in and of itself, its own RELIGION. Why all the hype? Why do most athiests go proactive in debate? What is there to debate? You do not believe in GOD, or any other deity, so be it. But why do so many yern to convert others to their "logic" driven beliefs?
Where is there then any reason to even discuss it? I just do not understand, I see athiests going on and on about this and that, but in taking a closer look, I see people desperate to know GOD, but angry that HE "SEEMS" to not be real.
HE IS REAL, and is intimately aware of all of our hearts and all of our motives.

the god of this world has blinded them to truth, just as he will blind side us to judge them.
two wrongs don't make a right.
For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.

OK - by your evident application of reason and logic and your obvious command of the English language, I give in. You win.

Not really. I was kidding.
As per the answer above me, I only accuse religious folk of being retarded in their thinking. Then, should they do so, I accuse them of enforcing their beliefs, retarded as they are, into government policy and into the education system, where they DO NOT BELONG.
