I understand that when one drinks enough to get drunk, his blood is already thinner than normal. I also understand that aspirin is a blood thinner, so would it be a bad idea to take aspirin while drunk, since your blood is already thinner than usual? Let's say one does take the aspirin while intoxicated, and their blood does further thin, what would be the side effects, both short term and long term? I'm really not a raging alcoholic. I have just seen several people take aspirin while intoxicated, and I was once told that it was crazy to do since your blood was already so thin from drinking. All input is appreciated! Thank you!

I think the worst part about taking asprin, or any pain reliver (tylenol, excedrin, etc.) when drinking is that your stomach can bleed. I have not heard about your blood being thinner.

I believe it is a safety precaution for bleeding. If one were to get hurt while drunk and on aspirin ones blood wouldn't coagulate and you would bleed to death. It's probably unlikely that you would get an internal injury or wound while drunk but...oh wait, yes you could..very easily!! Just be careful and maybe hold off on the painkillers until sober.

in most cases you should be fine unless you are bleeding. when your blood is thin it is harder to clot less clotting more blood loss and you know the rest. also your blood dosent stay thin forever just untill the next day or so
