Yeah i'm curious because I have a friend who went out with a guy who was 28 and she's 18. She might still like him. So i've heard that's the cliche "older guy=bad intentions." So would this always be the case?

Ok, I'm gonna be the old lady here and say something cliche. He's using her for sex. I'm 28 and I can safely say, I have nothing in common with an 18 year old. Not one thing. Yeah, I'm sure he tells her she's mature and everything but I remember when I was 18. I didn't know my head from my a** (no offense to 18 year olds!). Even if they do date, she'll drop him by the time she's 21. I can guarantee you that. He's knockin' on the door of 30, don't you think it's kind of lame that he's not dating someone that's in their 20s? Something is off there. Sounds like homeboy wants some young girl lovin'. I can't see them having deep conversations about the cosmos or anything. He'll bed her & dump her unless he's a real gentleman. If he's a real gentleman, he'll screw her a couple of times and then end it. Sorry that's harsh but I call 'em like I see 'em. He's a perv.

I only say this because I've seen it and experienced it myself. Not all older guys have bad intentions. In fact, alot of older guys know what they want and are more mature. Some do play games though. At 18, a ten year age difference is ALOT. Alot of life has transpired in ten years time. If he is a great guy, your friend will probably outgrow him. I could say something canned & faked but I've gone through the same thing myself and seen it over and over again.

This is not always the case, it depends on what type of person the guy is to begin with, and alot of times older guys dont have bad intentions but just think they have to have a way younger g/f.....just like 60 plus guys having to have a wife at least half there age...............guys of any age can have bad intentions as well----------so its not the age to go by, but the character of the person

Don't generalize!!! There are good and bad men. However a guy of 28 IS NOT OLD!!! He is matured and I am sure he means no harm to a 18 year old girl.,

It depends on the couple.. If they both love each other, then the age gap is nothing. Also, if the guy is single, and really cares about her, then there is no "bad" inentions....only good ones.
I know a couple where the age gap is 35 years, but they have love for each other, and are still having sex.
The man is 57, and his wife is 92.

well 28 is not very old....but its not true that older guys have bad intentions. Infact older guys are more mature and care for women than younger guys

it is what society thinks its unacceptable. additionally whilst a older guy dates young women..it in basic terms seems as though it might like crossing the limitations of a father /daughter relationship. frequently it sort of sounds like a older guy might take income of young women. Older men are at a distinctive point of their existence than a youthful woman.

What do you mean by 'bad intentions'?

The primary driver that they both have, is to have sex. This is not 'bad'.

BTW, it's quite common for younger women to be attracted to older men.

not necessarily. is the older guy married? if so, then definitely he only wants to take advantage. but if the guy is single, then- maybe he only fell for a younger girl. your friend is already of age to decide for herself. maybe she also likes the man. let her decide on her own.

Now you know better than to even ask something like that...

Maybe not 100% of the time, but probably 99.5%.
