There are all kinds of schools. From high school to private. I have been a pro. photographer for close to 40 years. I still go to classes and seminars to learn more. In the past 6-7 years, I have been doing forensic photography, and legal video. Very interesting. The video part I do is record depositions. Whatever you choose, I wish you the best of luck. BTW, I have shot many weddings, and I can't stand them. (But they do pay good.)

Ive been to those places at the mall too and its just a bunch of high school kids that chew gum while working. honestly the lighting is already set up, the camera is already on the tripod, so the person taking the picture doesn't have to be a professional. It would be better to be a freelance photographer because then you can shoot at different angles, experiment with color processing, basically run your own business/ make your own prices. If you want to be that photographer in the mall then thats great too! good luck with your future :)
