Innoculations and vaccine shots are the same. Where a live germ is put into your body to build antibodies. In some instances the germ actually has an adverse effect that causes, lets say influenza, to become active.

Inoculation (not innoculation) is just another word for getting a shot by a needle in some part of your body usually to inject a serum or medicine to prevent or treat a disease or body ailment. When you get a flu shot, you get an inoculation.

inoculation/vaccines are either and injection or drops on the case of polio(sorry I'm dyslexic) what they are is a mild form of the illness as in the case of small pox the vaccine was discovered when a scientist realised that milk maids did not get smallpox this was because when they were milking cows that had cowpox the puss from the pox's was getting into cracks in their hands. they work by either a milder or inactive form of the illness then the body can make antibodies to the germ then if we are exposed to that germ the body producing antibodies to attack the germ before it can get a hold i hope this helps you

Inoculation originally referred to the method of protecting people against smallpox. Before that Jenner (the originator) called it variolation, from variola, the medical name for smallpox.
Technically it should not be applied to any other protective injection. These are called vaccinations, from the word vaccine.

It's preventative medicines given sometimes freely to all children and to adults and children if they are allergic to something, and to prevent catching some of the fatal diseases of our time. It's also given to animals for the same reasons.
