Entrance to what? What are you trying to get into? How you wish to be perceived by someone depends a great deal on what they are looking for.
Your appearance and behavior is viewed within cultural (societal, professional, and scholastic) context. In general, it is all a matter of balance - for example, you may wish to be considered out going, but not aggressive, confident but not arrogant, polite but not fawning, professional but not elitist.
The first impression is the most important - put some care into your appearance. Walk in with a smile, give a firm handshake as appropriate, and acknowledge each person present, in order of importance, by title and name. Be respectful, attentive, and responsive. Sit up straight and maintain good eye contact with whomever is speaking. Do not display any nervous mannerisms (tapping your fingers, playing with your hair, licking your lips, shaking your leg, etc.). Now that the stage is set properly, you have to provide the substance!
