It has help me find peace when my brain seemingly doesnt want it, ha ha.
No, seriously, there are times when it seems like I cant shut the thing off - and I have gotten better at being in control of that switch so to speak.
I have learned to be more conscious of others
Ihave brough more peace into my mental activity - in patr because I realized that my mind is a noise generator - and half the things it spews are fiction!
Plus, when my mind is disengaged, it connects me to a peace greater than myself.

Meditation has a vast coverage of helpfulness but depends on levels and individual abilities. It is a really big thing to talk about in few lines.

Normally speaking, meditation clears mind, stablize emotion and also the 'chi' of ones' body. It is a good thing.

High level 'chi' practise require meditation.

In more religion way, meditation can generate and unlock great mental powers, magics, lights, let ones reach high level of cosmos. Meditation gods always have greater powers than those who don't.

Blah blah....

Real meditation is to realize our True Self. We falsely identify ourselves with the body, mind complex. The ever present SELF is in all everywhere. Only ignorance prevents us from realizing this innate Truth. Remove the obstruction. You are your SELF. When you remove the mirror in front of you, the reflection also vanishes. Then you alone remain. This is what I have understood by meditation. In the wordily sense, meditation will pacify the nerves, remove stress and tension.
