I am student teaching in Greece (I'm from America), leaving Tuesday! I will be staying with a teacher at the school and paying her rent of 400 euros/month. I don't know her though; we have never met.
Do you think I'm supposed to bring my own bath towels? Or would she let me use hers? Is there a certain etiquette standard regarding bath towels?
Thanks!
:)

I would bring my own, it shows independance, and that you are not expect them to take care of you like one would a child.

You could just mail and ask her, I don't think it's an embarrassing question. If you came from the next town over it might sound silly or demanding, but coming from overseas it's just practical knowing your luggage is limited by what you can take on the plane.

On that same note, I don't know your budget, nor how many months your stay will be, but when I went from the Netherlands to Colorado as a student I packed only clothes & such; I did need bed linnen & towels but those bulky but not too expensive items I purchased in Colorado on my first day there, rather than packing them in my suitcase! And if you do that you won't have to worry about it, if there are towels thank her and if there aren't go for your first shopping trip :)

I can't believe anyone is expecting you to fly to Greece with your luggage full of bath towels! You are guest, paying or not, and who expects their guest to bring their own towels!

In the unlikely event that you need some you can always buy them when you get there... Greece is not an undeveloped country.

I hope you have a wonderful experience!

I pretty much agree with the some of the other answers here, bring your own towels, a hand towel and don't forget to bring your own wash cloth just in case.

well idon't know about you but idon't like sharing bath towels...so i would take my own set of towels or buy them over there. I think its gross to share towels with someone else , especially if they are strangers. But i think since you're staying for a while just take your own to be on the safe side.

Bring your own bath towels, you are not a overnight guest, you are renting from her.

Take your own. Take 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels & 2 washcloths. Why 2? If one set is dirty, you'll have a spare clean set.

I'm picky when it comes to towels & always take my own, even to hotels or friend's homes.

You should have already discussed what your rent will cover. Unless she is providing maid service, I'd take a couple towels with me as well as my own sheets and other bedding.
