Paula Dean. I love her because she's down to earth and cooks like my grandma and with just as much spunk! I love down home cooking. And she has an interesting history too. She went through a miserable marriage, became a hermit, and even hated to go to the grocery for 20 years. She'd only buy things right inside the front door. After her divorce she says she came out of her shell with the help of her boys.
And look where she is now!

Alton Brown. I just love how he breaks down everything scientifically and explains WHY these food exist while preparing them. He always does your everyday stuff as well, which is awesome. And his interaction with "W" in the cooking hardware section....classic.
A close second would be Paula Deen. I'm a southern girl and I love her exploits in some good ol' fashioned southern cookin'.

It's a tie between Paula Dean and Alton Brown. Paula reminds me of my grandmother's cooking. I used to spend my summers down South with my grandmother and Southern cooking is very distinctive. And delicious!. Paula once made some kind of dish with tomatoes, and she said "I bet y'all didn't think I could make tomatoes fattening, now did ya? Southern cooking is simple, usually fattening, and soooo good.
Alton is my inner science geek. I've never made a recipe without making some kind of changes to it. I love experimenting with food and Alton is all about the science behind the food.

Ooh! I love Food Network. Personally, I love Rachel Ray (my VERY favorite). She is just so lively and energetic. Plus her dishes look really tempting. Alton Brown is also one of my personal favorites just because I'm a science dork. I would have to Emril too...BAM!

Floyd. I suppose it is because he is so casual and likes a tipple as well.
A close second is Tony Bourdain, an eat anything, smoking and drinking sort of guy.
Alton Brown
Rick Stein
Martin Yan
The list is endless

My favourite chef has to be Racheal Ray. Some people might think she is annoying but I don't care. She is funny and energetic. Her 30 minute meals are so quick (obviously) and easy and delicious. She definately inspired me to be a chef.

I like Rachael Ray (and my husband likes her for the same reason Robert S does), but I really like Sandra Lee, she has some pretty unique ideas. My husband nicknamed her "Slushy" for her cocktail time section, and it's stuck.
