YHWH comes from the imperfect form of the Hebrew verb hawah (to become). Jehovah means "he causes to become", which is a fitting title for the God who can become whatever He deems necessary to fulfill His purpose, as well as manipulate events in whatever manner He chooses. Hebrew is an older language than Sanskrit, so I'm not 2 sure about how much water that argument's holding . . .

Answer: I would have a new religion, my current one, Orthodox Christian. Religion is (part of) our life and it is not about fear, not nowadays. Religion is just about the wisdom of all the times into a belief, which is NOT based on FEAR, but ON WISDOM, love, understanding, reasoning, history of human kind ... Into the case you described I would be really amazed and I would be avid to know as much as possible about the new religion, my actual one, which if it is taught in the churces or read read ad literam, it's heavily understandable, though. Any religion must be lived as the life in itself, interpretated, understood through own experiences. Religion isn't but good sense applied at the specific conditions of a period of time. This conditions had changed, sadly is that people usually change and wash only their clothes, but do not change their ideas, habits, do not wash their souls through and only through love - because it is extremely hard! This is Christianism about, love. I personally see how hard is for myself to change from a form of thinking, behaviour, etc, into another one. Just for myself is hard some times, many times, to get rid off the anger. I have worked at it, understanding that even where there is the greatest love, expectations we may look for in return are a great evil ... ... Who knows if, in your particular story, I would not get back into the old habits of the said tribe just for my inner peace within the comunity, which inner peace is obviously settled upon general believes from our childhood, though ?!? Just for living a peaceful life ... After all I was taught just we, humans must love, and this is what I'm looking for and I cannot live without - I don't get any other sense of life without feeling the joy of the love, a simple love - giving & receiving, not complicated, not inquisitive, not shadowed, just free sharing ... How should someone change this for the shine of ... whatever ?!? The alternative must be of a higher religion than the Orthodox Christian in my particular case, au contrary to your case-story in which we should definitely change our "Volcano God" belief !!!

Yahweh, or as it's said in English, Jehovah, means "He Causes to Become" meaning that He will do or become whatever is needed to fulfill his purposes. He was certainly not a "volcano god!"
And how can you honestly equate the disgusting Canaanite custom of sacrificing their CHILDREN by burning them alive, to the animal sacrifices that the Israelites made? Your system of values is way off!

Ever-flowing? isn't that river, water, or the milky way? then you can ask why chrsitian worship river god, water god, milky way god.
sacrifice huh? how about demons worshipping? then you can ask why christian worsip demon god.
You don't have to challenge christian by asking mocking question. Which of them will admit they are worshipping volcano god? Besides, always angry and furious, how about tornado god, and perhaps asura?

the story of Jesus was based on the story of Horus and Osiris
a symbolic story of the life cycle of the Sun
Yehova and jesus was the Sun God in its various stages ,and continued humanizing the story over 6000 years , made people forget the symbolism and ended up believing that we were talking about Gods with personalities ,forgetting they were cosmic bodies
and it was merged with another concept ,namely the Anunaki (those who decended from heaven)who were Aliens that bred humans as slave s to mine gold for them (the story of Adam and Eve )enki the good Anunaki who tried to help the slaves to gain independence and freedom ,by giving them information ,was branded as Evil as the serpant with the fruit of knowledge.
the anunaki were a reptilian race ,some believe the reptilian brain in our heads is a souvenir of Anunaki genetics.

"Just keep thinking this way, and you'll eventually find out how hot a volcano can be."
Haha usually I hate comments about people going to hell but this one was one of the best I've ever seen.

"Ever flowing" is synonymous with a volcano? I could think of other possibilities...
but anyway...why not? What's good enough for Empedocles is good enough for me. Plus, we have to take the ring back to the fire where it was made...etc.

That's the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Jesus Christ is alot like Mithras the sun god though. Both had a virgin birth both rose from the dead three days later.
