I've seen so many people voice their opinions about abortion in people's questions. "Don't do it" "Don't kill the baby" "I don't care if you're 16, keep it!". And there are others that vocalize for the pro-choice side of the argument.

So tell everyone right here how you feel about abortion. Are you pro-choice or pro-life? Personally I'm pro-choice. I think women deserve the right to choose. Its our body, let us decide.

Please no self-righteous, religious zealot, preach fests

Pro life.
Since it's your body and you have a choice, don't get pregnant in the first place. Don't whine to me when you get pregnant because you're lazy and irresponsible and then expect me to have any sympathy for you when you want to kill your baby because it's in your way.
No one has to keep the baby once they've had it. Have you heard of adoption? If you don't want, can't afford it, can't raise it, give it to someone who can.

Here's a little question of my own to you ladies out there who use the "my body my choice" argument....

Obviously you have the argument to use because you are a female....and your body became female....when?
Was it after you came out of your mother? Or...
Was it at the moment of your conception? You know, when the sperm and egg meet. Oh, wait, it couldn't be at conception, because that is another argument some of you have, that a fetus is just a blob of cells...not a human yet....I must have missed that day in biology, because I was always taught that whether or not the child is male or female happens at conception...not 9 months down the road...but then all sorts of things go on at conception...maybe you should read up on it sometime?

I really want to know what you think gives a woman the right? A woman gave up her right to NOT have a child growing inside her the second she decided to have sex. That, after all, is the entire purpose of a human being's ability to have sex....or did we not pay attention in health class?

You want to have a choice...you got it...have sex or not...use birth control or not...after having those two options, what other choice do you need? Choose responsibly now ladies!

Oh yeah, and if you don't want someone else, i.e. the government, making the decisions for you, then make the right decisions to begin with...if you're not smart enough to make the right decision in the first place, then let someone who has a brain do it for you!

I am pro choice because I believe it is a woman's liberty right to do as she pleases with her own body. She is the only one in a position to know all the facts around the pregnancy and to know what is best for herself and the fetus. It is beyond dispute that over half of all pregnancies end in the death of the egg or fetus. And it is therefore natural for a woman to experience abortion in one form or another. Some woman are mentally able to see why the 50% of natural abortions are right. And they can see that the same process that enabled the 50% natural abortion rate would help them to solve problems of rape, incest, poor choice and deceit. It is without doubt that women have functioning brains that can reason right from wrong. And it is only the woman that has all the facts that are needed to determine if an abortion is right in a given set of circumstances. And it is true that it is natural for a woman to do what is best for herself. So it is also a natural right that the woman extend what occurs naturally into the realm of her control.

I'm a little bit of both. I believe women have a right to choose what happens with their body but I could never have one myself. Abortion does not just deal with the mother's body, it also concerns the baby's body who can't decide for itself. I hate it when I hear about women who've had like 3 abortions just because they can't keep their legs closed or don't want to use birth control. I guess I'm more pro-life than pro-choice especially ever since I had my beautiful baby daughter.

Pro-Choice

I am afraid that if abortion were illegal, many things would go bad.
If a woman is raped and becomes pregnant, I do not believe she has to give birth to that child.
A baby that has major defects or would endanger the life of the mother or himself/herself should be able to be aborted.
A teenager who made the mistake of having sex early in her life who becomes pregnant should be able to get an abortion. Of course, she should look at other options, such as adoption, before automatically deciding.

I'm sure there are many other things I am not thinking of right now and I'm not positive if there are already laws on these examples or not.

The main reason I am pro-choice:

An abortion doesn't mean that someone will not have more children. In fact, I believe that most people know how many children they will have. Personally, I want to have 2 or 3. When someone gets an abortion, it doesn't mean they can't try again. If one baby is aborted, there is a high probability that another one will take his or her place.

I am pro-choice and am proud to say so.Personally I could not have an abortion because of my own reasons but would never tell anyone they don't have the choice.I would even support my daughters if they made the choice and I would never judge .I don't think anyone else should judge the choices of others because there is one true judge and he's not on the Internet.By the way I think your question was well written and intelligent without being ranty like most on this issue.I look forward to the replies to see if they respond as you asked.

pro choice... women should have the right to make choices over their own body... I do believe however, that there should be limitations.. for example...

women should never use abortion as a form of birth control..

there are times that abortions are necessary...and if that necessity should arise for a woman, they should have the choice..

after all.... back alley abortions don't do anyone any good.

pro-life i think you chose to get into that position in the first place then you made your decision. if you've been raped ,been molested or if the mothers life is in danger then okay i understand and i think no one law should just be black and white.exceptions must be made. on the other hand there is no excuse for someone to get pregnant now and use abortion as birth control. it is a serious decision and i think both parents need to be involved in the decision. it's not about a woman's body it's about the babies that are getting killed because of lazy or stupid individuals. ask a kid some time what they think and they never say it's okay. may be they see the connection to life differently then women who want out of situations they've put themselves in. and i believe life starts at conception-if you believe that then you believe it's murder. i believe that everyone that's had an abortion is still a parent they just murdered their kid.

Women HAVE to have the final decision. I have to say I am pro choice, but it is an awful experience, and I am really against abortion, but believe that women MUST have a choice. (they should choose to abstain, but that doesn't happen in the real world)
