... you're sitting in the middle of a lecture, taking notes, and the person behind you chokes on their coffee, and proceeds to spray the 3 people infront of her as she coughs?

I was in shock, I got it in the back of the head and on my notes, some other guy got it in the arm... What the hell do you say to this person? Thanks, I like smelling like coffee and spital?

No, I've never choked on a beverage and proceeded to spit it all over people. I guess I'm just skilled like that.

The proper response would be to ask her if she's okay. I wasn't there but I think she could've turned away or managed to cough behind her hand even if she choked; most adults can control our bodies enough to at least do that much. So I do agree with you that what she did seems inappropriate, did she apologise at all? If she didn't, I might've included a rather acid 'excuse you', which might not be really polite but hey, coughing in someone's neck isn't either. :)

You smelt like coffee not bad ! Jokes apart you see it was just an unintensional accident as a matter of fact it was an embarrassing moment for the person as well and as far as etiquettes say you could have asked the person are u ok or do you need anything or can I help you ?

That's really gross, and I wouldn't have liked it any better than you did...but...it was an accident I'm sure. I'm sure she could have died of embarrassment (I know I would have wanted to if I were her!) It's not like it occurs everyday, so I wouldn't be too upset....it was just a freak accident. :)

seriously, i laughed out loud. you retell well.

...i feel for you, i do, but honestly, i don't imagine she enjoyed choking 1/2 to death and spraying people and dribbling like a 2 yr old in front of her entire class either ;)

in other words of etiquette, what you might have said to her was, "are you okay?"

Now if there really good looking take advantage of the opportunity to get to know them because they are going to be less likely to reject you after spiting on you.

You say "are you alright?" and "it's OK, accidents happen".
Or you could say "I'm an arrogant prick who never did anything embarrassing in my life".

Nothing...I'm fairly certain that it wasn't intentional...but she should have apologized.
