Bow not yourselves to the sun and moon, but bow yourselves to God who created them, if Him you serve. (- 41:37 -)

People say that Allah is a moon god because Muslims follow the lunar calender. that is where the the misconception comes from. When in actuality, Muslims believe that Allah is GOD. the same that Christians believe in. We just do not believe that Allah has a son.

We do not worship the moon. we just have a lunar calender

It is funny when you heard some people said that Muslims worship the moon god and they said because they put crescent moon on the mosque. It will better if they said that Muslims worship crescent moon god than moon god.No , Islam is an Abraham's religion and Muslims in the age of prophet Muhammad (pbuh ) didn't have a minerts.
If they read the Koran they will know they are mistakenly.

the moon has nothing to do with it. All the pagan idols were thrown out of the kabbah when muslims took control of Mecca. There is absolutely no connection between pagan gods and Allah.

'Allah' is the arabic word for God.

I am no certain religion myself, but am highly spiritual and I do belive highly in God...or Allah as Islam calls him....and as far as him being a "moon god"....he created the moon...but he is God...or Allah...or whatever any belief states him as...

History Proofs it.

1. Moon worship has been practiced in Arabia since 2000 BC. The crescent moon is the most common symbol of this pagan moon worship as far back as 2000 BC.

2. In Mecca, there was a god named Hubal who was Lord of the Kabah.

3. This Hubal was a moon god.

4. One Muslim apologist confessed that the idol of moon god Hubal was placed upon the roof of the Kaba about 400 years before Muhammad. This may in fact be the origin of why the crescent moon is on top of every minaret at the Kaba today and the central symbol of Islam atop of every mosque throughout the world.

5. The moon god was also referred to as "al-ilah". This is not a proper name of a single specific god, but a generic reference meaning "the god". Each local pagan Arab tribe would refer to their own local tribal pagan god as "al-ilah".

6. "al-ilah" was later shortened to Allah before Muhammad began promoting his new religion in 610 AD.

7.There is evidence that Hubal was referred to as "Allah".

8. When Muhammad came along, he dropped all references to the name "Hubal" but retained the generic "Allah".

9. Muhammad retained almost all the pagan rituals of the Arabs at the Kaba and redefined them in monotheistic terms.

10. Regardless of the specifics of the facts, it is clear that Islam is derived from paganism that once worshiped a moon-god.

11.Although Islam is today a monotheist religion, its roots are in paganism.

Apparently some guy found a statue with la illah or something like that on it. They ignore the fact that just becuase a word SOUNDS like something, that doesn't mean that it is. For example, take their they're and there. Sound the same, but not. Same goes for plane, plane, and plain. One is a flying machine, one is a level, and one is nothing special. All don't share the same meaning. People don't like to think for themselves. They enjoy being told what to think from the 10 o clock news.

I know that this is not a proper answer, but...just you try knocking off all those crescent moons off of Muslim mosques, flags, or whatever and just you see what happens and trying asking them why. More than likely they will have your head lopped off before you can ask. So there must be some big connection, don't you think?
