So many of my problems could be solved if duels were allowed. Instead of having to put up with some idiot threatening me that his friends are going to beat me up, because he is too afraid to take me on himself, I could just challenge him to a duel and end his miserable life.

Unfortunately in the modern world duels are not allowed and the last time he talked rubbish to me, all I could do was take it, because if I grabbed his car keys and stuck him in the boot I would get arrested.

I am not good with words and don't want to be, I am better at action than talk. But if pistols at dawn were allowed again, I would be so happy. Laughing at his family and his crews families as they follow those slow funeral processions. Been letting off guns and explosives in forests since I was 6. 26 now and my finger is itching for the trigger.

Question is why not legalise duels. So many of the worlds problems would be solved, without the need for war. G bush could duel Saddam and I could finally own.

Geez, grow up. Killing someone over words is stupid. My guess is Duels were outlawed, because of Idiots like you who would just as soon kill someone over a little name calling.

If the guy you've been dueling is an straightforward "win dealer" who loses on purpose to emphasize human beings's rankings up - you've been an unwitting sufferer of his unfavourable ethics. If the ban does get repealed for you, make certain and drop sport with everyone who admits defeat first turn. that's real, they could have had a foul hand - in spite of the undeniable fact that that's safer on your account to no longer enable the game imagine you attempt to cheat!

You seem confident in your gun skills. Dueling was banned after congressman Alexander Hamilton (You may know him better as the ten dollar bill) was killed in a duel by Burr (you may know him as the guy who killed the guy on the ten dollar bill). Plus, its not like they'd actually duel you, they'd probably say no and ask for a fist-fight or something instead.

Pistol dueling was for wussies. Blunt or edged weapons or simply bare hands would be more satisfactory. And basically the short answer is society became wussified. Oh how I long for more simple times.

They were eliminated for two reasons. Too difficult to prove consent after the fact, and too many bystanders getting hurt.

Nowadays, the general prohibition against taking a life (homicide) or helping someone take their own life (assisted suicide) would apply.

Personally, as long as the consent issue can be resolved and safety concerns are addressed, I say let them duel.

Think of it as evolution in action.

Unfortunately, manliness has been one of many casualties of "enlightened society."
