One question: how do you now that you burn 600 calories a day? If you're depending on the machine to tell you, it may or may not be correct. A good rule of thumb for runners is "one mile is 100 calories." If your speed on the elliptical is fast enough to equal 6 miles each time you get on it--and it could be. Since you're on it for an hour then you could be doing the equivalent to a ten-minute mile--then you are close enough to 600 calories. Let's say that it is close enough.
Let's also say that your weight was stable before you started this exercise regime (if it was increasing you might just be keeping it stable now with the exercise) and that you do not increase the amount of food that you eat (that is probably not quite true unless you keep a close and unbending eye on what you eat). Under those conditions you would lose about a pound every six days. Generally, one pound is equal to 3500 calories.
So that would be a pound a week, a good rate of weight loss to maintain health.
Now, you do not say how long you've been doing this, but if you would lose a pound a week, and if you've been doing this for longer than three weeks, then I would think that you would already have noticed some weight loss. Your trousers should already have started feeling just a little bigger. If they haven't, then something is amiss in the equation.
But not much, I'd wager. You might simply have to wait a slight bit longer to notice the weight loss, but at 600 calories a day--the equivalent of an average American breakfast, as long as it isn't from MacDonald's--you are in effect skipping almost one meal a day.
You'll lose weight with that. Be patient with yourself, keep at it, and you'll see.
If you cut out all snacks, especially the fatty desserts we know so well and love so much, and cut down on meal portions, you'll lose weight faster.
"Very healthy" eating? That's good. Does it, however, include cheese? Cheese is quite fatty and loaded with calories. Be careful of fats, as they are very high in calories. The more you eat of those, the slower your weight loss will be.

There are factors that play a key role in this. Like the amount of calories you take in a day and your metabolism. If you take in the average 2000 calories a day and burn 600, with a fast metabolism there is a good chance that you will lose weight, with a slow metabolism there is a good chance that you won't lose as much. Another factor is if you have previously lost weight and your body has adapted to you taking in as many calories as you do and burning the same amount, it will enable you to not lose weight but to maintain the weight. Personally i don't trust the computers on the elipticals or treadmill anymore because, my cell phone clocked my 1 mile sprint at 6:40, and the treadmill clocked me at 10:02 and i started the cell phone before the treadmill, so becareful when you are looking at them.

Yes u can just make sure you have no carbs after 5pm, and exercise by at least 1 more hour a day, in a different form, like aerobic or low impact, dont do too much weight training unless they are small weights otherwise you'll gain too much muscle and it weighs heavier than fat, swimming lots, increasing water in your diet, no alcohol or naughty foods and you should be able to do it no worries, Also remember to eat a really big breakfast, medium lunch, and a small dinner, also especially if you walk when you could take the car etc., goodluck to you for making your dreams come true!

If you burn 600 cal a day over your basal rate, then you would lose about 1 pound every 5 days. 1 lb of fat =3000 cal.

i doubt it but it depends on the amount of calories you consume
and where those calories come from
a calories is a measure of the energy released from food when digested (or burned (which is how people used to figure out how many calories are in each protein and carbohydrate and lipid and such)).

You should also be counting the calories you are consuming. Then you'll be able to figure out roughly where you stand. Some people have slower metabolic rate, so everything is not always by the book.
