she needs to be fed every 4 hours, day and night. If you don't have the ingredients for the formula, for just one feeding, until you can shop for the right stuff, you can feed crumbled unsalted crackers in equal parts canned milk and water..NO regular cow's milk! You can feed the special formula made for puppies, that you get at the vet's office or pet supply shop. (WalMart carries it too) If you are in an area where you can't get the formula, you can make your own, using this recipe.
Here is the formula you will need to make:
1. 10 oz. of canned evaporated milk or goat's milk NOT pasteurized cow's milk - this will cause scowers(diarrhea and stomach pain) - dogs cannot drink normal cow's milk.. Goats milk is by far the best to use. Wall Mart sells it.

2. 3 oz. sterilized water (baby water or boiled water) this is not needed if using goat's milk

3. 1 raw egg yolk (no egg white)

4. 1 cup of whole yogurt (avoid skim or fat free if at all possible)

5. 1/2 Tsp Karo Syrup or Corn Syrup (NOT HONEY !!!)

You mix this and keep refrigerated. Feed it warm, with puppy food floating in it, until your puppy is eating the puppy food well..Gradually add more puppy food and less of the milk formula, until at about 6 1/2 weeks, it is just eating moistened puppy food..

Return that puppy immediately! That puppy isn't even weaned yet and shame on you and the owner of the mother dog for separating them. It is just too soon. As much as you want to gift your mom with it, you will just have to wait until the puppy is at least 8 weeks old. When it is safe for you to bring it home, you will need to take it to the veterinarian for a check up to see if everything is okay and that there's been no harm done. No matter how well intentioned you are, at this time, you cannot give the puppy the proper nutrients that it will get from nursing. When a pup is removed too early it can cause too much stress on them and you could end up with an aggresive dog.

Well if a dying puppy is the first signs of your moma's marriage then thats not really a good sign is it. I say dying puppy because she will die from lack of nutrition. It seems like you have no idea on how to look after this pup who has been taken away from her mother far to young. Your pup is crying because she is scared and hungry and missing the security of being with her mother. If you dont take it back to be with her mother you are giving her a death sentence

First you need to return this pup to the breeder for another 3 weeks. It is against the law in most states to buy, sell, adopt or give away any puppy under 8 weeks old. Also NO vaccinations BEFORE 8 weeks of age!!!! Giving them younger can supress the immune system, interfer with natural immunity, leave the puppy more suseptible to the very illness the vaccine is suppose to protect against and cause future problems with vaccinations. The AAHA/AVMA and all 27 vet schools do NOT recommend vaccinating earlier then 8 weeks and most vets wil lnot recognize vaccinations given this young. As for breed, many breeds have black/purple spots on the tongue.

I would say she is crying because she was taken from her mom and is still to young to be removed from the mom. Puppies really should not be removed from the mother until at least 8 weeks. I would feed the puppy, dry puppy chow with the healthy morsels(it;s a bit softer) mushed up with milk replacement, blending it together in a blender works fine. Also you will need to get the replacement milk from a pet store and feed her from a bottle. If she came from a large breed mother, using a baby bottle works best. You will need to feed her this way for at least 2 or 3 more weeks every 4 hours or so.

It is against the law to have a puppy this young unless you own the mom!!! Get it back to the mother now!!!
It is against the law to buy, sell, adopt, give away ANY puppy that has NOT completed it's 7th week and in many states it is 8 weeks.

It is a VERY irresponsible breeder taht would even allow a puppy to go to a new home this young.

poor puppy!!! your dog is waaaaayyyy too young to be already taken away from her mother. she is too young to have been fully weaned from her mothers milk and she is in shock right now. You need to go to a petsmart or petstore asap and buy bottles and puppy formula. And be prepared to feed her every two to four hours because she is just like a human baby and she is probably VERY hungry right now. Also she NEEDS to be with you at all times and even sleep in the bed with whoever is feeding her because she is having seperation anxiety. she needs to be kept warm at all times and no home bathes until she is at least 12 weeks old or she could become very very sick from it. Do not give her people food or people milk do not spray perfume on her no flea shampoos no flea anything!!!! She will cry alot for the next couple of months especially when she is left alone because she is scared and if she is the only dog in your household she has noone to bond with or learn from other than you and your mother. So I pray that your family is up to the task.
Good luck and treat her well!!

I'll bet your mother is really blessing you! Just what she needs - a tiny puppy to be fed every 3 or 4 hours, night and day. If it lives long enough to feed!

What's the matter with your head?

are you serious...only 4 weeks?!?!?!?! in most states it is illegal to transfer ownership of a dog before 6 weeks. most breeders prefer to wait till the pups are 8 weeks before letting them leave mom. at 4 weeks a puppy still needs to nurse and should start being introduced to solid foods. it is not physically or medically safe for a puppy to leave its mother that early

Did you just get her like today? What have you been feeding her till now?
Call the person who you got it from, and ask. It will probably be formula in a bottle.

*This is why I love CA law that will not allow dogs sold till 8 weeks, when they are on a solid food diet*
