If you're unsure if you'll like the attention that you are bound to get, then it might be best to try out the temporary colors that wash out or wear off after a few washings before making it more permanent.
There is nothing wrong with being progressive and stepping out of the social box, however if you do that it would be wise for you to be prepared for what ever attention that might come your way. Be strong and know thyself.
You might find it character building and most assuredly an experience to catalog along with all the other stories you'll one day tell your own children about when you are much older.
It's fun and different, if you feel that you're up for the challenge that it will surely bring, then go for it. Be thick skinned and don't let the immature, unkind people ruin the experience for you. They really don't matter in the scheme of your life. Unless you want to be one of them, then you might want to reconsider.
The decision is a personal one.

I would see a hair dresser, when I was younger I used to dye my hair all the time, I then turned it green somehow, I called the 1-800 number on the box and they told me to seek professional help loool, since then I only go to a hairdresser.

at the expense of sounding old I'll tell you back when i was younger you didn't dye your hair a unnatural color to get people to like it. it was done to keep people away. it was a statement about you as an individual and your view of the world around you same as tattoos. unfortunately it marketed commercialized and now you can buy these thing in the local mall. if you really have to ask that question you probably should leave your hair the way it is

the question is why do you want to do this ???
is it for yourself ,then do it and be happy.
or is it to get peoples reaction ,a public gesture
then also do it ,and you wont know what people think untill you do it
and be happy as well
so you see
only happiness awaits you
you are very fortunate
your skin is irelevant or your eyes
you could be a martian with green skin and purple square eyes ,
if you dye it as you describe they will only notice your hair

i did that when i was in high school except i had it all kinds of colors then just went with dark black which was strange becuase im a blonde. no one really responded badly to it. i was a teenager its was expected of me to do something strange. i was also a very good student and i wasnt very popular. i don't think anything bad would come from it if you did and it washes out after a while anyhow.

Who cares what people will think of you. You should be more concerned with why YOU want to do this. Do you think you will look good? Then that is all that matters. If you are worried what other people will think then maybe you are doing it for the wrong reasons. Do what makes you happy.

Well if you are wanting negative attention then go for it, because that is exactly what you will most likely be getting. I do and would encourage you to be yourself but not at the expense of segregating yourself all because of the color of your hair. Yes, that is pretty lame, but people do it all of the time. Just be prepared for what may or may not happen to you.

Several years ago, I dyed my bangs purple. I loved it. And because I loved it, I didn't care if everybody else in the world totally hated it.

If your hair is damaged, you may end up with the colors soaked into your hair Shaft for awhile. But why do you want negative attention?

Don't be concerned with what other people think...be yourself, and do what makes you happy. Hair dye is not permanent
