Difference in interpretation of what they consider to be God's word. Jesus spoke of fire and brimstone etc...not a pleasant place to end up anyway.

They preach it because they believe it 2 be true (or at least I hope so, perish the thought of them making money teaching something they don't actually believe). Perhaps there just aren't enough professors that want to teach the class in theology school that shows the invalidity of the hellfire concept. Wanna hear a secret? Eternal torment in a literal burning hell is never mentioned as punishment for sins in the Bible...

Don't know much about Catholic religion, but don't they teach hell fire too? The word hell means mans common grave. All the dead go there. You can not preach that God loves you in one breath and then say, if you don't be good God will throw you in hell. If one really stops and thinks about that, it really makes no sense. I can understand that if you choose not to have God in your life that he has every right to wipe you completely out of his memory, but a loving Father would not want his own creation to suffer for all eternity just because they didn't accept him. The one true God that I serve would not treat his children that way. To me, it would seem to be torturous even on his part to hear our cries day after day.

i saw some small demons flying around my brother bed ,when i was six.I had awoken terrified? felt a presence ,i looked over, there they were,a greenish light was in the room, one looked at me and i screamed but no sound came out of me.I can still see those evil eyes , i am glad i never saw anything like that again. YOU WILL be brought to hell.screaming if you don't have the spirit leading you home/sorry.but its the truth.sure ignore reality, but reality is still reality and because you THINK its not real , doesn't matter at all.You must be born of the spirit to enter heaven are you will be lost soul

Actually if anyone does not preach eternal damnation they are not preaching the full counsel of God. The scriptures are *very* clear that eternal hellfire is real. It's not a scare tactic, it's in the Bible and this is why the Bible was created in the first place. The Bible's purpose is to bring us to our savior Jesus Christ who saves us from that place.

It is not to scare you into joining their religion. It is to teach you the truth! Hell and Satan are real. Death is inevitable and if you don't believe, eternity is a very ling time!

It's all to make people afraid enough to give the church money. That's all, plain and simple. I watched my grandmother give money over and over throughout her life, only to be abandoned in her true hour of need in the end, after a stroke disabled her. All the people who preached to her to give money disappeared. TWO different churches.
They don't care... they just preach hellfire to make people afraid enough to give money to secure their place in heaven.
