Very high. Not just dealing with divorce, but substance abuse, PTSD, and other mental illnesses. My father was in Vietnam, 3 tours, and came back reallllly screwed up. He and my mother divorced when I was 3 months old (after he raped and tried to kill her when she was 8 months pregnant with me). He did finally remarry and had 2 children, but then he cut the phone lines, raped her, tried to kill her and the children. So they ran away and changed their names so that he couldnt find them. Even I dont know where my little brother and sister are. I havent spoken to him in about 10 years because I am afraid of him. I dont even know if he is alive or dead. Hoping for dead so that he cant hurt anyone else.

I guess you didnt ask for that. But I say all that to say, they come back screwed up in the head so divorce would be high.

Judging by the reports of how many veterans returned from Viet Nam with their brains scrambled by what they have experienced, I'd say it would be in the vicinity of over 50%.

According to doco's that come up on TV from time to time, most of the vets have been divorced. Some remarry, while others go from one relationship to another.
My B.I.L who was a vietnam vet, said that the reason he had problems on his return, was that the high from being in battle is not there when you you have to settle back into society, and that he was always looking for this high, knowing that it wasn't going to be.
He is still a restless wanderer
