Try to avoid hot, spicy food, alcohol and smoking as they tend to irritate the stomach. The cause of the gastric pain must be determined. It could be due to side effects of drugs or gastritis or gastric ulcer which may be due to a bacterium called Helicobacter Pylori.

Avoid acidic foods (tomato sauce, citrus fruits) anything fried, bubbly drinks like soda or beer, cheese and milk can also affect this so be careful. Eat plain food, crackers or bread and drink water, lots of water!! Also try drinking some ginger tea as it can help settle the tummy. Excercise can help ease the problem too!
