I have a REALLLY personal question but it's been a heavy weight on my shoulders for so long; I need to get this out and get some feedback from people I don't personally know... okay.... I am a Christian, I have a great realationship with God.
But ever since I was little.. I've had a problem with mastrbation. I was starting to think that it really wasn't a sin. But throughout the years, it's not so much the act of doing it but the thoughts going through my head as I'm doing it. I think of violent things that just ARENT me... I think of rape; I think of incest, I think of bisexual things (although I'm not bisexual) Just all of that stuff... I don't know why. I do this every day though, and it's to the point that I know it's an addiction. What am I to do?!? I ask for forgiveness, I'm strong in my faith but this is horrible and I keep doing it over again. Am i going to hell?

Read James 5. It talks about having a support group or someone to keep you accountable. This, along with a lot of prayer, is the only way to overcome this, I had some of the same problems with masterbation, and this is how I overcame it.

Listen, 85% of the people of the world admit to masturbating on a regular basis. And, everyone knows the other 15% are just lying.

Now, you are thinking of some "interesting" things while participating in "America's Truly Favorite Past Time", I wouldn't worry about it.

As far as being addicted, I doubt it. An addiction effects your abilities to complete those day to day responsibilities you have. So, as long as you need to discipline the monkey(it isn't PC to say spank anymore) isn't interfering with the rest of your life, I doubt you are really addicted.

Continue to apologize to God for your sins, continue to make a good faith effort at true repentance, and repeat as necessary, until the day comes when God finally gives you the necessary grace to overcome your weaknesses.

It may be tomorrow, or it may be your last moment on the planet. Only God knows.

In the mean time, try to keep busy with other things ... things like the work, worship, sacraments, and devotions of God's church.

If you are a Christian, a confessed and baptized believer, you know that you are going to Heaven. The only unforgivable sin is 'blasphemy of the Holy Spirit". We are sinful by nature. God knows that. You have to truly want forgiveness and honestly pray for God to take control of your problem. It is a serious addiction, just like many other things!
