My ex likes to text me at 3:00, 4:00 am (his time, my afternoon) or once in a while call at that time. I m pretty sure it is after partying and clubbing. he is a good drinker so he seldom gets drunk. His text is like "hey, i love you", "baby, i missed you, i wanna marry you this year, you still love me?". i just dun understand why he keeps doing this. he distant from me and hurt my feeling, so we kind of broke up after all. So when people get drunk, they tend to tell the truth? or tell something that opposite to what they think? For me, when I drink and get drunk, I will usually tell the truth or something that I dun have the gut to say when I m sober. So what do you think?

It used to be called "drink and dial", but I guess nowadays "drink and text" might apply as well. He is likely alcoholic, needs help, and is not ready for a relationship.

Alcohol affects people differently and my daughter is a "drunk texter". When she goes out and has a little much she wants to talk or text to anyone and everyone she knows.

For some the real person and truth comes out, for some they do crazy things they would never dream of doing if they were sober.

I had dated a guy exclusively for over 3 years. We usually went out together but one particular night I chose to stay in and he went out for a few drinks. About 1 am he calls and asks if he can stop by, I was still up and said yeah sure. When he arrives he is even more affectionate than his sober self, gets down and kneels next to me and pours his heart out. Tears start rolling down his face.
Confesses his deep love for me and (without a ring) said he wanted to marry me.

A week later by total accident...I ran into him and caught him cheating on me and out on a date.

I wouldn't put much stock in his drunken words.

He is your EX for a reason.

if he cant say these things to you when hes sober than i would just forget about it. if you guys broke up because he hurt your feelings and was distant i dont think it will change. how about the next time he calls dont answer or just delete his texts. basically ignore him and see if he stops. maybe hes just looking for attention, or he knows that youll always be there for him when he wants you to be. i know its hard, ive been there but in the end youll be better off without him.

He should turn himself into AA

Texting while tanked is well known to be even more harmful than drinking and dialing - because the abuser leaves a permanent record

He needs to go on the wagon IMMEDIATELY

When he is drunk it is most like his "unconscious" feelings and mind at work. I think it is sweet when he does this. Learn to appreciate it, I would. My boyfriend barely ever calls when drinking and rarely texts me. Enjoy!

people tend to let their true selves show more when they are drunk...that's why they say don't let an abusive partner blame their actions on drinking. but i can't really give you any advice on what you should do about it

hope that helps.

um seems like he has a problem...might need a few AA meetings. other than that tell him to stop calling you...don't fall for the crap cause he only "loves" you when he's drunk.
