I like wearing my hair straight but hate the flat-to-your-head look that irons give it. What's the quickest and easiest way of styling it straight but still maintaining a bit of body?

'Here are my top tips for boosting your blow-dry:
• If you have time, use rollers to give your blow-dry a bounce.
To keep your style smooth use a Mason Pearson mixed bristle brush.
Use your flat iron like a round bristle brush: use it to bend the ends inward or outward to create a smooth but tousled look.
Avoid heavy silicone gloss finishing products. Use light gloss mists instead.
When drying or ironing, lift up the sections of hair to a 45 degree angle to smooth the hair without flattening the style.

I like that too sometimes. To achieve a straight, but not stick-straight look, I blow dry as normal, and just straighten the undersides of my hair and a few extremely wavy top pieces with a straightening iron. Then, it's straight, but not flat. Takes no time at all.

i know i hate that flat-to-your-head thing too. You should try heating tongs, you can heat it into a curl (just don't hold it curled too long), and when you comb it out it'll be bouncy, straight and have volume .
