BIll gates does not work on operating systems himself anymore, and hasn't for a long time. But Microsoft will make more OS's, and has already started working on the next windows.

I highly doubt that Bill Gates made Vista let alone XP or any of the operating systems! I'm sure his company will tho!

Writing operating systems is what Bill and company does. I just wish it was what they did best. What they do best is make a lot of money off of our ignorance.

Edit update: I do not buy any of that humanitarian stuff that Mr. Gates does. What I do buy is brilliant PR work to soften his image to get Uncle Sam off of his back and it has worked. Time Magazines Man and Woman of the year. Yeah right and I will sell you a bridge in Brooklyn. I buy his wife but not him. I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft has their hands in Time as they do many, many, other medias and for good reason.

Considering that Bill Gates has retired and is working on humanitarian causes like trying to stop disease (see http://www.gatesfoundation.org/default.htm to see what he's doing with his money), I doubt it. He retired before Vista was released.

Microsoft, on the other hand, will continue to release new operating systems.

Eventually, Microsoft will have to; ongoing changes in both hardware capability and software demands, to say nothing of consumer expectations, will make it inevitable. However, Gates himself has little to do with the actual operation of the corporation any more.

they're going to consistently create greater effective OS's as device features boost so will the advantageous aspects, applications, and standards of an OS. So if he desires to stay in business enterprise, then sure he will create greater OS's...although linux might overtake them in acceptance exceedingly if there's a software more suitable for loose which will run domicile windows classes reliably. (there is WINE (loose) and Linspire(no longer loose)), yet M$ prevents utility from updating in the direction of the MGA(Microsoft genuine income) although this is going to be against anti-have faith rules and settlements i do no longer think of it rather is seen as such.
