If you believe in god, how do you know he is not lying to you? Isn't it possible that he is conning you into worshipping him, and when you die you are tortured for his pleasure? We all know people can lie to us and we'll believe them. People are conned all the time. How do you know that god is not the greatest "con man" (or con god) of all time? Or, that the devil conquered god a long time ago, and is tricking us everyday.
In short, what is your proof that god is who he says he is, and acutally exists (and you can't use the bible as proof, as that can all be faked by god)?

Faith cannot be an answer, as god can still be deceiving us. "I trust god" is not proof, as he can still be deceiving us. How can you put your faith in a "being" you cannot verify is even the correct being? Please, a real answer.

No one has answered the question (not surprisingly). How do you KNOW that you are worshipping god when you cannot verify that he is who he says he is? Would you give me $10,000 to invest for you if I just said I could get you 15% on your money, without checking up on me? Yet, you give your "immortal soul" to a being you cannot even verify exists? You cannot even talk to and ask questions? Has no references? How do you know you are not being duped?

I hope you are ready for this. God is all everything that you can touch feel see hear is of gods image. you may be special in the makings of many in the blue print because god gives us the ability and the built in mechanisms to become or believe in whatever as long as we believe in god which we are of. my proof is this if you fear things reverse it god is love but if you live with fear then god is fear. try and understand things simply like a child because god is childlike. In you are miracles of god take your conscience it will tell you difference between right and wrong take your sense eyes nose heart all this should become one team working together then a 3rd eye will open and then you will see your specialties and get answers from the great one. your are personalized in gods image. remember this all greatness walks beside you not under or over. you are just as important to god than any. why I say? because you have enough guts to ask these questions you are special remember that. never judge anyone. always forgive you to forgive others always love you to love others and always love god who loves you

God is the great inventor (there is no invention without a inventor) . Us being here (you asking this question ) proves there must be a God.
However, if you notice life , (there is Good / Bad). But No invention is made without a purpose. ie the bible / Quran are both books from God. And they make it clear that there is a God, and we are born for a purposed (and that is to worship him).
Furthermore, we are not only created for worship, and we were also meant to live our lives till its fullest, and get married and have children to prosper this world.

By your logic, nothing or no one can be trusted. From a psychological point of view, it sounds as though you suffer from transference; you believe everyone is thinking like you.
I suggest that if you truly want an answer to your question, that you get involved in a Bible study. You will then find out for yourself. You will be in a better position to make an informed decision without all of the lies and deceit you'll find in this forum.

I was trying to think of a really emphatic way to answer this question - but I really just feel sorry for anyone who might truly take seriously what you have just said. Faith is a choice - a decision we make - and I choose to believe. Simple as that. God is not to be debated - but if you want to read in His word and be open to receiving him into your heart just say the word - that is what Christ died for.

There is no proof, that's why it's called faith. I don't really see the point in God conning anyone. What would be the point in that. Besides, I'm not that paranoid. I just live my life.

Because if you follow God's word you will see that the things of God are good. How can God be bad if He only wants us to do the good things?.. You dont have to worry about the people who actually follow God's word because they do good for this world.. How then is the idol god of this time (money) good if man slays, dies, sells crack to there own family? You can tell what is real by its fruits. . All this is explained in God's word.

God never lies. He keeps His promises. I trust His Word, the Bible.
