Obviously, caddies carry the clubs. They also have a variety of other tasks depending on their experience and the expectations of the club and the players.
1) Clean clubs
2) Find lost balls
3) Estimate yardages and suggest the correct club for that yardage (more skilled caddies)
4) Read the greens
5) Find lost balls
6) Forecaddy (run ahead and watch as the player hits his/her shot -- this is most often done when the land area is difficult to see from where the player is hitting)
7) Tend the flag on the green
8) Rake the bunkers after the player has hit
9) Fix ball marks on the green
10) Fill in and/or repair divots
11) Be generally helpful to the player, but stay out of the player's way.

Carry golf bag, suggest distance to the hole, and the line on the green, besides cleaning the clubs and balls.
