I haven't had a boyfriend for two years, went on a couple of dates but that's it. I don't want to go out with someone I do not like you know.. Anyway, one of my old male friends, enter my life again and he has sooo many problems (alcoholic dad, addicted to heroin) but is interested in me romantically.. I am so lonely and I love the attention I've been getting from him however, I didn't want to get involved with him for obvious reasons and he has stopped talking to me. I am lonelier (is that a word? anyway..) than ever and I am so sad right now. I don't know how to make myself feel better. Just as I think I have found someone, something goes awry.. :(

I can definitely sympathize. Here it is Saturday night and look what we're doing. I am lonely sometimes too so I try to find things to do to cheer me up. I get lost in book, go to the beach or for a walk. Anything to get my mind off it. I have been so unlucky in love and my best friend - we're sort of in a relationship but more friends than anything - well, he's not always there for me so I tend to spend a lot of time alone. The problem is that he considers me his girlfriend, I just want to be close friends, but he doesn't want me to see other people and I don't either really but he doesn't understand that I miss intimacy - something I don't get from him. It's really hard because I don't want to lose him as a friend. Sorry, I am supposed to be answering your question and I rambled off on my own. I guess it's because what you said hit so close to home. I have decided to stop "looking" - I like my own company so I try to find things to do to take my mind off it.

When your feeling down and everyone does at one time or another, its hard to believe but everything happens for a reason. Tomorrow is a new day and I predict sooner or later you will have a happy life.
In the mean time, hey, you got your computer, it can be your best friend. A world of knowledge at your finger tips. Play games, answer and ask questions. You can burn up hours on the computer.
Spend time with family and friends, do you like dogs or cats? They can take away a lot of loneliness.
I have friends that are married and say they are lonely. So even having a boyfriend or husband does not mean you can't still be lonely.

You need to learn to depend on yourself for your happiness, and not other people. You could be depressed as well, if it continues, seek professional help.

You don't have to have a boyfriend to be happy, you know. Find an activity you enjoy, or find a new hobby. Join some kind of club, and you'll meet lots of people, men and women, who enjoy the same thing you do.

Another solution would be to volunteer for a charity. It's always amazing how seeing people who are less fortunate than you are makes you realize how blessed you really are. It also takes your mind off your problems, because you're focusing on other people's issues.

If you're religious, find a church that you feel comfortable with. Most churches have all sorts of activities for all different age groups. You'll meet new people, and have alot of fun in the meantime. I met my husband at a church single adult party. ;-)

Hope these ideas will help you some. You're better off without the guy who has addiction issues, I hope you realize that. Don't be with someone just for the sake of being with someone, be with someone because they make you a better person.
