If I told you you looked tired? Is it wrong to tell someone they look tired? even if you just want to sympathize with them...?

I don't think it's offensive, it's just a way to show an interest, nothing really wrong with looking tired.

I wouldn't be offended. If you are sympathizing with them and having empathy for their condition. Of course a woman may take this the wrong way. She may think that she looks horrible and you are pointing that out. I would not say this to a woman.

I am freaking tired right now, I just yawned as a matter of fact. I wish it was my boss telling me that I looked tired and I should go home.

I would not be offended, but I certainly do not want to be told that I look tired, especially if I was not tired.

If you know the person and definitly can tell then it's ok, maybe if the person was having difficult times it would allow them to open up to you and to talk about why they are tired. If you don't know that person - don't say anything. That may just be how they look.

funny, someone actually said this to me tonight. I am tired, but it did make me a little sad to hear it. I thought I must look pretty run down for it to be brought to my attention that I Look as well as am tired.

Ooooo - this is a toughie. It would depend on who said it to me.

If it were my husband, or one of my close friends, it probably wouldn't bother me much. However, if a casual acquaintance said it to me, I'd probably take a bit of offense to it - they basically just told me I look run-down and worn out (even if they meant no harm by it!)

When in doubt, I would say to simply not mention it. You'd be better suited to something like "how's work been treating you?" or "how are the kids?" depending on who you are speaking to.

I wouldn't be offended...I would like it if I were tired and a little bitter to have someone to talk to.

I would not be offended. However, it is considered bad manners to comment on another person's appearance without being asked your opinion by them first.

depends. If the person is male, nope!!!

If the person is female, you've indirectly don't her she looks like hell. That is like telling a guy he's a loser.

she may be offended or she may be hurt.

it depends how close you are to that person. I would be offended if it were anyone other than my immediate family or friends
