"The hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation." John 5:28, 29. "The wicked is reserved to the day of destruction." "Yet shall he be brought to the grave, and shall remain in the tomb." Job 21:30, 32.

The Bible is specific. Both the wicked and the righteous who have died are in their graves "sleeping" until the resurrection day.

If that was the case, why do so many Christian beileve when the wicked die, they go to hell when thier is no hell until The second coming Revelation 20: 7, 9, 14.

Waiting in the other world, with those who didn't sin, for the resurrection day. After the resurrection day arrives, the sinners go to hell and the rest go to heaven.

The wages of sin is death. But God, who alone is immortal, will grant eternal life to His redeemed. Until that day death is an unconscious state for all people. When Christ, who is our life, appears, the resurrected righteous and the living righteous will be glorified and caught up to meet their Lord. The second resurrection, the resurrection of the unrighteous, will take place a thousand years later. (Rom. 6:23; 1 Tim. 6:15, 16; Eccl. 9:5, 6; Ps. 146:3, 4; John 11:11-14; Col. 3:4; 1 Cor. 15:51-54; 1 Thess. 4:13-17; John 5:28, 29; Rev. 20:1-10.)

You need to understand that once a person dies, the body is buried or lying dormant (sleeping) until the resurrection... but the spirit of the person that died does not stay with the body... it leaves or separates and goes to a heavenly place... There are two separate places for these spirits to be sent to, one is described as a paradise... some might call it heaven.... the other place called spirit prison or hell is for those who were wicked, unrighteous people here on earth...
The actual hell that is talked about is the torment that a person could be going through mentally when they realize that they have been wicked and not repentant before their death.... We will truly judge our own lives in some ways, but Jesus Christ will be the final judge and give us our justified rewards! The resurrection that is spoken of in the scriptures quoted refers to when the body and the spirit re-unite and stand in final judgement...

There are a number of Christians that believe in the sleep of the dead and others that believe that your soul goes to limbo. I will also add that these same people believe that when you die you go to neither heaven or hell. This question has separated a number of churches over the years. I tend to agree with the sleep of the dead. It really makes no difference as to you and I awake time can drag by some times but when we sleep a very fitful sleep it seems that we no more than close our eyes and the alarm rings

In the waiting place. The bible explains it as being a 6 by 6 stone cell like chamber. And its filled with flesh eating serpents and rodents.

Same place as most dead people - in the ground. Some are in urns on mantles or on the ocean floor. Depends on where they got buried or their ashes are scattered

In my honest opinion, I don't think they have conscious existence until they are raised again on the last day for judgment.
