My husband and I are avid hunters and keep firearms in our home. we also keep alcahol in the house. We rented a room to a friend who was apperantly on probation ( we didnt now) His probation officer showed up searched the house found the firearms (all legal) and the booze and confiscated everything as evidence. Its now been a month the PO says its being held for evidence but to this day ( a month and a week later) no charges have been filed. We want our property back. Can anyone offer advice or any information would be helpful. QWe live in Sutter County California. Thank you in advance for your help.

that sucks. Just tell your husband that if he doesn't start treating his body with more respect and caressing himself and working out and showing his body that he loves it, his body could end up looking a lot older than it does. Bodies like love and attention just like we as humans

First try it the suttle way by personally going to the police Captain, and bring your gun receipts and registrations for the firearms. Under the Fourth Amendment the Probation Officer
CANNOT search anywhere but the friends room. The rest of the house is not fair game. This Constitutes Illegal Search and Seizure and a blatant "Violation" of the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution. If the Probation Officer finds weapons in your Friends Immediate Control, meaning in an unlocked closet or drawer, the most the Probation Officer can do is command the Probationer to vacate the premises. He's the one on Probation, NOT YOU!!. Now I would caution you that if you signed an agreement with the Court to relocate the Guns and keep Alcohol out of the house then YOU are in violation of that agreement, but still, all they can do is remove the Probationer NOT your lawfully Possessed Firearms.
I wish you the Best.
GOD BLESS/GOOD LUCK!!

Remember that in California, that the PO have the final say in the matter and if you want your things back, then you must do everything legally.

info might nicely be held till the case is performed. If to blame, the info may be surrendered to the government finding on what variety it rather is, if the case is discharged it rather is generally lower back except for sure unlawful. How lengthy it takes for the case to proceed relies upon on the character of the fees

Until the trial is over, or until the charges are dismissed. It could easily take many months to resolve.

Is the room mate still there? If not, they should gie it all back. A photographer could take pictures for evidence.
