By chick I mean baby bird, so don't tell me "Oh, I'd love it if my bird made noises like that!"
Nala, my three year old female cockatiel, only makes clicking noises. I've had her since she was about two months old, and she never whistles, but more like a "irrrk" noise like nost baby birds do...I noticed when I saw some baby tiels on youtube...Is there anything wrong, or is it hjust normal?

No, I wouldn't think so. That's just her way of expressing herself. Do you whistle to her? If not, then she might just need you to show her how.

Hi there. You are perceived as flock leader. She has no one to pattern her vocalizations after. She may benefit from hearing other tiels. You can record them at a pet shop or a reputable breeders. I vocalize bird sounds with my bird, I add words and whistles. Now she won't shut up. It's all good. Get animated and excited with your bird. Birds are very social and a lot smarter than once thought. They seem to enjoy human singing.Expand her horizons. Have a great year.
