Possible for the dead to call you on the phone?

My Grandfather died last May and there is a strange message recorded on my home phone message machine. He is saying hello to me. It is NOT an old recording of him, it is new. Anyone else have this happen???

Absolutely. It happens far more often than people are willing to talk about. You are lucky and loved to be getting this message. He obviously wanted you to have no doubt it was him and that he still is there for you.

I do not think so. The phone message machine is engineered to only pick up physical sounds, not ethereal ones.

However, there was a study done that included Arthur C. Clarke (author and scientist of Space Odessy fame) that was called the "Stone Tape Theory". It concluded that it was possible that electromagnetic energy may be held in place, such as a stone castle and repeated at a later time affecting the senses.

The study was prompted by the sound of the 'potters wheel' picked up on the bottom of a vase by a sensitive magnetic pickup, during an archaeological dig. it was able to play back the sound of the potter kicking the base of the potter's wheel while forming the vase centuries ago. Further research developed into the Stone Tape Theory.

Check the internet and Google 'The Stone Tape Theory', then weed away the utterly fantastic ones that are unscientific, to get the information - if you are interested.

My guess is that it is NOT your grandfather phoning you from the grave. More likely it's an old message or someone else. I have seen message machines and message systems do this type of thing before. Out of nowhere I have gotten messages from people that I have deleted long ago and a couple times I even got my own message that I left for someone else as if i called myself and left it for myself. It's just a screwed up system with some glitches.

No, but I did see that on a movie called "White Noise". I thought it was pretty interesting. Personally, I think that would be awesome to have that happen. I'd pick up and say "Where did you go, heaven or hell? Oh, heaven? Ok. How is it there? Is it hyped up or is it as fantastic as they say it is?" If it was a person from hell, I don't think they'd be talking, they'd be screaming.

I want to believe you are not kidding, but some on here do tend to do that. I think if this really happened, take it as a sign that your grandfather is at peace and is letting you know he's ok. I mean, why else would he be calling? To say "Hey, buddy, help me!!". What can you do? So, take it as a sign he's ok and letting you know he's thinking of you on the other side.

I know this is confusing for you, but I don't think it is your grandfather. Grief may cause you to believe it is. Over the years I have had many older people call my number, because they dialed wrong. Once a lady called and said she needed help. She sounded so much like my Grandmother, I raced to her house. My Grandmother didn't call, but I could have sworn it was her. Hope this helps in some way, and I'm sorry for your loss.

That's really weird. My dad has had dreams where his dead parents would actually be having conversations with him from Heaven, but he never got any phone messages. Are you sure this wasn't just a prank?

Look at all possibilities before you jump to a huge conclusion that requires a lot more than tampered messages.

It's easy to believe in something because it is comforting, but is it true? Be cautious.

Perhaps someone is pranking you with a recording. I'd check the last number that called.

Well, Heaven gets excellent service with Cingular & US Cellular, so its not unlikely.

In my honest opinion I don't think the dead can do this.
