Genesis chapter 6: verses 5-8
"The Lord saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of mans' heart was only evil all the time. The Lord was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. So the Lord said, "I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth---men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air---for I am grieved that I have made them." But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord."
Hello, thought a quote might help with this answer for you.
When it rained for 40 days and 40 nights straight there was no land mass left on the earth. ( "springs of the great deep burst forth and the floodgates of heaven were opened")Anyone caught outside of the Ark drowned. No bird could have stayed in flight for that time either so all the living creatures were also drowned.
The bible states also that more than two of every animal was brought to the Ark by God, (for sacrafices) all Noah really did was open the door to the Ark. Noah, his wife and their three sons' Shem, Ham and Japheth and each of their wives also went on the Ark. After the flood when they left the Ark these are the people that repopulated the earth. And the bible states that people during these days lived hundreds of years.
Noah was 600 yrs old when the floodwaters came down. And he lived to the age of 950 yrs.
Anyone else with a boat would not have survived because the "open" boat would have filled up with water. The Ark was built with a top cover for this reason.
Genesis 9:17. "So God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant" I have established between me and all life on earth." The rainbow. When God sees the rainbow he is reminded of his promise to never destroy the earth in this manner ever again.

Love your questions Banana
Noah was "suppose" to be the only one that "God" instructed to build a boat. If we are to "assume" (make an *** of U and ME) that Noah's was the ONLY boat there there was been some SERIOUS insest going on in those times to be able to repopulate the entire planet!!!! LOL And just how would that explain all the different races on the planet?
Noah was an alien and the ark was a spaceship!!!!!

No one had a boat because it had not rained in that
area of the country for years. There wasn't even a
body of water around that a boat could have been
used in. It was for these reasons that Noah was called
a crazy person for even building the ark in the first
place. He tried to tell them but they would not believe.
So, essentially, the reason people did not survive
was their lack of belief.

Noah's ark replaced into approximately 450ft long (in accordance to maximum pupils, some say as much as 480 feet). the biggest wood vessel ever made replaced into 325ft (hull length, not at the same time with the jibboom) long and thanks to this is length it replaced into plagued with structural issues and leaked so undesirable that pumps had to run continuously to maintain it from sinking. A 450ft all wood vessel isn't seaworthy and could wreck itself below this is very own weight, not to indicate the load of its shipment.

In this area of the world, it didn't rain, just misted at night. So when he spoke of rain, no one believed him and everyone died. Since God only told Noah about the flood, no one else knew where it did rain. By the way, Noah took his three sons and their wives with him, so yeah...

if you choose to believe that mythology, you may be interested to learn that many other cultures have similar flood stories, like the native american one where one man survives on a canoe, then gets three different animals to dive for earth to create a new land mass on the back of a turtle... there is one in almost every belief system! So i guess, if you believe the one, you can believe others survived too!

And yet, while we have many boats from even earlier than Noah, we don't have a single splinter of this mammoth vessel. Not even an area of clear cut forest that would have produced enough wood.

The bible says that Noah took his family with himn, meaning his wife, children, brothers, sisters, third cousins twice removed so it was more than just him on the boat...it would've gotten lonely otherwise!
