Physicians and pharmacologists are always taught that any drug can cause any side effect; so it is possible that steroids can cause mood changes.

I'm assuming you're talking about oral steroids, not topical steroids. It would be very unusual for topic medications to have systemic side effects.

But yes, stronger steroids, like betamethasone and prednisone can both cause mood swings. Some people find the mood changes go away, others don't.

Steroids per se coupled with relief of joint pains get people to good mood.

Negative!!! MOod changes will only be caused by taking more than the normal dose.
