To start with, read Job 40:15-24.
Job was questioning God because of his suffering, and so God comes and challenges Job with His creation.
Many people say, “Job 40 can’t be speaking of a dinosaur.” They say that, not because the description doesn’t fit, but because of their preconceived conception that man and dinosaurs didn’t live together.
The margin of the NIV says, “Possibly the hippopotamus or the elephant.” Something to keep in mind—the footnotes are not part of the original text.
Well, the tail of an elephant or hippo is like a twig, not a cedar (most dogs have longer tails). Throughout the Scriptures, cedars were known for their great size and length. Nothing on earth today fits this description, but a sauropod type of dinosaur does.
The largest we have found was over 120 feet long. That sounds to me like the “chief”—not a hippo.
And then in Job 41, God describes the Leviathan (Isaiah 27:1 calls it the dragon in the sea.)
The margin of the NIV says, “Possibly the crocodile.” But the description again doesn’t fit any animal alive today.
Besides, man has never had a problem catching crocodiles, even primitive tribes, but God says in Job 41 that Leviathan couldn’t be caught.
Some think this was just a mythical creature since it speaks of it breathing fire. And yes, Job is a poetic book and those could just be poetic descriptions.
But not necessarily. Impossible you say? What about the electric eel that can produce enough electricity to stun a horse? If the electric eel was extinct and all we could find were its fossils, would we be able to know that it could generate electricity? Nope. What about the firefly and anglerfish that can produce light? What about the bombardier beetle that can fire a boiling mixture of chemicals at its enemies that is 212 degrees Fahrenheit?
Why couldn’t God have created certain water-living reptiles that were capable of expelling hot gaseous fumes that could ignite? Most animals produce methane anyway, which is a flammable gas. Stories of fire-breathing dragons have circulated for thousands of years.
Also, keep in mind that Behemoth and Leviathan were included along with real creatures that Job knew about. Read Job sometime.
In Isaiah 30:6, Isaiah speaks of flying serpents.
I also find it interesting that Herodotus, the Greek Historian who lived around 450 BC wrote about flying serpents in Arabia. He talked about finding their bones and described their snake-like bodies and bat-like wings.
And the Jewish historian from the first century, Josephus, wrote about Moses and the Israelites having a difficult time passing through a particular region because of the presence of flying serpents. I think they were speaking of one of the pterosaurs like the pterodactyl, pteranodon, or rhamphorhynchus.

Of course Christians are supposed to believe in dinosaurs! Anyone who doesn't is completely dismissing the fossils that have been left for us to study in God's Earth. After all, if God had just planted fossils in the Earth to trick us into thinking that dinosaurs had existed, wouldn't that be unjust? God is a righteous God - He would never trick us or otherwise lie to us.
And, also, have you ever thought of everything else that isn't mentioned in the Bible? The Bible is a record of who God is - it's a theological text, not a scientific one.
And for those of you who think that all of the dinosaurs died out in the Great Flood, perhaps you should take a look at this article -
http://www.answersincreation.org/poop.htm
And also, let it be known that dinosaurs are NOT simply overgrown reptiles - larger variations of lizards or other things. Dinosaurs exhibit many, many traits that are not found in any kind of living reptile. For instance, all dinosaurs had a fully erect posture, with their limbs held at vertical angles, because of the unique structure of their limbs and hips. This is very different from present-day reptiles, which have legs that are sprawled out. Also, dinosaurs have a very different ankle structure than other reptiles, and a very distinct pelvis structure as well. These are only a few of the many fundamental differences between dinosaurs and other reptiles, such as lizards.
With this said, it should be clear that if anyone claims that dinosaurs are simply normal reptiles that have grown to large sizes, then they REALLY need to actually do some research on the subject, rather than just saying things that don't make any sense at all.

Hi, The debate over dinosaurs is very simple. In the beginning god created dinosaurs along with many other animals. The air was clean and healthy allowing men in the Bible to live for hundreds of years. An interesting fact is that all reptiles never stop growing but now a days they die because of the impure air and atmosphere. So in Bible times before the flood, the animals that only lived about 20 years now, lived hundreds of years back then which allowed them time to grow.
The second fact is that God told Noah to take 2 of every "kind" not species on the ark. Noah took 2 of the smallest reptiles(which were what dinosaurs were) to save room on the ark.

The dinosaurs existed. There is proof of that. Anyone who says otherwise is just denying fact. Some people say the bible does refer to dinosaurs. I suppose that's their interpretation. I don't think the bible mentions the dinosaurs because it was a very different world. That world has nothing to do with our world. It's good to know about them and that time period but it has nothing to do with spirituality really. That being said, the bible doesn't talk about alot of things. There's no mention of the pyramids of Egypt but they're there. There's alot of things not mentioned in the bible but, they exisited and are a part of the history of this planet.

I asked my mom that when I was four.
No one has ever been able to tell me the answer.
Ugh I don't know; everything contradicts doesn't it? But my theory was the dinosaurs were just part of the animals that God created in the beginning of the Earth; but the Bible was written after their demise. I don't think they were the rulers of the Earth; how is that known for sure? No one was there to see it. All we know is their size and bone structure. The rest is guesswork.

Genesis1: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Genesis 20: "And God went on to say: "Let the waters swarm forth a swarm of living souls and let flying creatures fly over the earth upon the face of the expanse of the heavens." And God proceeded to create the great sea monsters and every living soul that moves about, which the water swarmed forth according to their kinds. The great sea monsters were the Dinosaurs that God created. Genesis 24: And God went on to say: "Let the earth put forth living souls according to their kinds domestic animal and moving animal and wild beast of the earth according to its kind."

Sharks aren't mentioned in the Bible either. Or armadillos. Why would they be? The Bible isn't a book of zoology, and neither sharks nor dinosaurs have anything to do with salvation history.

Dinosaurs are mentioned in the Bible, but very few animals are mentioned in the New Testament. Of course they are not called what we call them today. Satan is sometimes refered to as one.
Many different words are used, look up words like: dragon(s), beast(s), leviathan, behemoth, (firery, flying or crooked) serpent, satyr, "screech owl", (basilisk) cockatrice, lizard, snail, chameleon, unicorn, mole and others. While common names were used in the translations, nearly all of these animals are unknown. They are more than likely extinct animals. These animals might seem exotic or even impossible, but if you have seen the fossil records, you know that they existed.
Probably all of these, and others that are not mentioned, fit into the classification of "dinosaur"; they were certainly teratoids.
