The toe will hurt for a while... but the claw will grow back. Most likely, the claw broke off from the quick (it happens); but since a cat's claw grows from the cat's tarsal bone, it is not possibe for a cat to "amputate" that by herself. Just make sure that the injury does not get infected - keep her indoors as the paw heals.

You should have a vet check it when you are able to, not an emergency, but toes tend to get infected easily. Usually the nail will grow back, occasionally it won't, and once in a while it will grow back but not be "normal"-may be small, curled, grow in the wrong direction, etc.

I would call emergency vets before taking her.
I"m not sure but I do believe her nail will grow back, b/c there are other things that must be renove to keep a nail from growing. Not just the nail itself.

This happened to my little dog. She was also limping and her foot had dried blood. We asked my neighbors (a vet) and she said it wouldn't be a problem. After 2 weeks, my dog was fully healed. Also, there is no need to wrap it up. It's better for the paw to be exposed to oxygen so that it can heal faster as my vet says.

hello in case you have wiped clean your kitty's toe off and the bleeding has stopped, it is not an emergency. waiting for the vet on Monday is fantastic. merely determine you clean it countless circumstances immediately and placed an antibiotic cream on the wound like neosporin or bacitration. the two are fantastic to apply and could no longer harm kitty while she licks them. yet do no longer supply her ANY discomfort drugs! Ibuprofen, Tylenol and Aspirin are poisonous to cats and can desire to kill your kitty or supply her kidney or liver injury. additionally, do away with any clumping clutter from her clutter pan and use the two shredded information paper or a product observed as "yesterdays information" which you will discover in the petstore. Clumping or clay clutter will assemble in the wound and reason an infection and discomfort. merely save the wound clean with saline and be conscious some antibiotic cream (no longer the kind with the discomfort drugs in it tho!) some circumstances immediately. call your vet on Monday and make an appointment so they might do away with any broken bits of nail which you would be able to no longer see, in keeping with risk placed her on antibiotics and recommend any added therapy. maximum suitable of success!

Let her clean it herself unless it looks infected. It will grow back on it's own. There is no need to take her to a vet until they are open. You cat isn't in pain and the toe isn't infected.

Wow. I really don't know the answer, but I wanted to say sorry about your cat. That sucks. I have a cat too and there is nothing worse than when they are hurt. Wishing you and Sophia all the best.

I would take her to the emergency vets for this. You will get answers to your questions and you can make sure everything is ok so there are no long term effects and everything stays clean.

It will be OK-see the vet when you can,but it's just like if you injured a fingernail-they grow back. Give kitty lots of love.
