I know what you mean.... but just because man has let you down, don't give up on God. You don't need religion or even the Bible for that matter to find God. Be spiritual... not religious. God made a promise to seek and you will find. That's a promise religion can't keep... but God will.
I hate religion but I truly love God. Seek God... not man's interpretation of him.

It is very easy to understand why someone would be turned off of religion....I know, because it happened to me. Although I am a very strong Christian now, that strength came from disregarding all the things that different religions argue about and instead simply accepted God as my creator initially. My favorite and most meaningful Bible verse is Gen. 1:1 God created the heaven and the earth etc. The rest of that chapter I take with a grain of salt because it can be misinterpreted. I think my God is smart enough not to tell us things that we will not be able to understand or will disagree on. I know many many Christians will disagree with my attitude but I have found that my faith stays very strong as long as I cling to the basic concepts put forth in the Bible and more or less forget about all the little stuff.

That's why perhaps Jesus said, "Faith can move mountains"
May be convictions and doubtlessness on any belief system the key.
Sathya Sai Baba say, a Christian to become a True Christian, a Muslim to become a True Muslim and a Hindu to become a True Hindu.
May be also for an atheist to become a true atheist and a scientologist to become a true scientologist also, with absolute Faith without any doubts in his own belief.
With this doubtless absolute faith in the belief system even the nature around may start behaving like THAT.
"Follow the voice of God. It is the voice of unchanging truth inside you. It will direct you toward your highest good. " - Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba

Being religious requires faith. Some people find that an organized church strengthens their faith while others find small groups or explore their faith on their own. I think that it is important for anyone who is searching for God to pray and have faith that they will know when God has set the correct path before them.
Conflicts exist in all aspects of our lives, not just religion. And those who chose to be athiest often spend just as much time arguing about religion as the religious folks do. Conflicts are impossible to avoid. People just have to decide for themselves which challenges in life are worth taking on and learn to overcome them.

i think its good that you dont want to accept things with blind faith. and its true, like people who are of the same faith, can have totally different personal views, but we have to look at the viewpoint from the bible. I dont know if youve ever talked to one of Jehovahs Witnesses but they are willing to take the time to help you understand everything about the bible, and most importantly its FROM the bible, so there is no PERSONAL views, just Gods. you can go to a local kingdom hall or go on the watchtower.org website and learn more...hope i helped

I know just what you mean and I am so happy that you asked this question...
I am Christian. I have asked this question a few times, but so much negativity arises, as a result (of asking).
What I will say to you is to pray to God as humble as possible. Ask God to reveal Himself to you. Tell Him that you want to beleive and that you are seeking Him... and He will open your eyes to see what you need to see. But you must first open you heart to recieve what He tells you... You must choose to beleiev or not belleive. If you continually speak negative things, then you reap a negative benefit... ya know?! Talk to God, naturally... forget the cliche's you've heard before.
God Bless!

Only God knows your heart the spirit of God draws one to Jesus then the Spirit will teach about him, it will teach you the truth about the Bible also; the true love of Christ is something else; the Spirit shall teach you all thing even the deep things of God but you must have faith in Jesus.

I have asked myself that many times. How can you find the truth in all this garbage? I found the answer in Gnosticism. If you want to find God, you must stop looking external to yourself. God is within you. If you want to know God you must know yourself.

Because, Christ is the most amazing thing that ever happened to me. I am telling you, once you find God, you realize you have found what you were looking for the entire time. I heard that God creates us with a hole in our hearts, we try to fill it with worldly things but they fail us, once we discover what God has made us for, then life becomes easier and the "hole" in our heart has been filled. I don 't know how else to say it. Jesus loves you and died for you. Once you find God, you will realize that He was what you were looking for the entire time.

We say that we believe Jesus Christ is the living word of God, but we don't believe in his words, do we really believe,.
Jesus said if you love me you will keep my commandments.
I thank you, and I love you, it's spirits like you that make it all worth while, it just takes one in a million, and you are that one.
