They don't hurt as much anymore with the new techniques. I like the light colors, plus they change with each fitting so if they turn yellow it won't be for long.
Eat soft foods, liquids. Use the wax they give you to protect your gums and lips at first. And stock up on painkillers. The pain only last a little while. Once your teeth adjust to the braces they are fine.

I'm getting my braces on Tuesday. So yes, we'll both deal have to deal with it. The only light colors that will turn a different color are white and maybe yellow. Light blue and pink should work, so don't worry! But remember, stay away from white and yellow...
If you have spacers, you know that they're a hell of a pain. But don't worry, braces don't hurt as much as the spacers. At first, it may feel weird to have the braces in your mouth. Then a few days later it may start to irritate your mouth and teeth. The orthodontist should have given you dental wax to help stop the irritation.
After a while, you should be adjusted to your new braces. The only problem I would have to say is the tightning. It will cause some pain and soreness, but don't worry. It should go away after a bit.
When you get your new braces, stay away from hard foods like pizza, cookies, and all that. Stay on a soft diet. Eat things like soup, mac & cheese, or whatever you like. You shouldn't drink a lot of soda because the acidic content can cause the brackets to fall off. Drink things like juice, milk, water, milkshakes, or smoothies. Try not to eat raw vegetables because it may be too hard. Make sure not to eat candy and BRUSH WELL!!! Don't end up having plaque, so make sure to brush after each meal.
Well, I wish you good luck for your new braces. And stay with the blue and pink, it should luck good!

I would get pink and green or white. well they will hurt for a week or so, but after it stops. Try eating soft foods. Like pudding, mash-potatoes. and anything kind of gooshy and mushy. NO SUGAR GUM!!! only sugar free. My friend learned that the hard way..
Good luck
LOL (lots of love)
