According to menufoods.com, there was no information concerning the Iams and Eukanuba recall. I have the seriel number of the recalled cans from the Iams website:

If you have a can with the following numbers on the BOTTOM OF THE CAN, please do not feed it to your pet and contact a vet ASAP if symptoms such as vomiting, restlessness, lathargicness, etc occur. Better yet, I would suggest holding off of any of the brands listed for the recall until further notice. For food, I suggest feeding hamburger (non-seasoned) and rice for dogs, as it is gentle on their stomachs and gives them the right nutrition. As for cats, I have no ideas of what to feed.

CAN ID NUMBER: if the second line begins with four numbers from 6339 to 7073 followed by the plant code 4197

I hope this helps any scared pet owners. I know it put me at rest.

If your cat or dog eats DRY FOOD, TREATS, or SAUCES by Iams/Eukanuba, they are uneffected. They are not made in the same plant, and this has been confirmed by the Iams/Eukanuba company.

Its good of you to post this... there are still so many people unaware of the recall. I myslef "stumbled" on the info on yahho answrs yesterday evening and immediately called Petco where I buy my supply of Iams and Eukenuba. From the manufacturers' website, I found out that the Iams I had been feeding my cats for the last 2 weeks is NOT in the recalled batch, but my Eukenuba cans have the plant number 4079, bit not the batch number (mine were 50something, so not included in the affected batch). Still, I am returning these cans tomorrow in exchange for someother cat food - am thinking of Natural Balance. Fortunately, I have a stock of Friskies in the cupboard and that saved the day.

Well, for cats, just go with a generic or store brand dry food. The best for your cats.
