Get yourself some night lights.
Or, put up those little white Xmas lights in your room.

hmm interesting situation...especially for one who doesn't watch scary movies. Just off the top of my head here...you should try to exercise (sweat, get tired, heart rate up) then, go in complete darkness. Really, its all in your head. Go in a familiar room, that you know for sure has nothing scary in it. Pretend your the king of the world (seriously, or some strong powerful knight or something) and just sloowlly start to relax...and keep the fear away. If that doesn't work, umm there's always nightlights

Put a radio on a talkback station at low volume, and get a nightlight, also get a large child's raygun, the type with lights and noise, test it out in your dimly illuminated room before bedtime, at least after you get it, so the unconscious part of your mind knows that you prepared for any eventuality, even though the conscious part is saying that it is silly. Sleep with it in reaching distance, or next to you in bed.

Get a nightlight.... have a flashlight nearby... leave the hallway light on. You are not the only one who has fear of the dark. Nightlights are great for my boys. They also have a lightning mcqueen car light made of some weird gel and gives off red light.

1. face your fear... don't lay there shaking. open your eyes, sit up, and say "come on out! I'm not afraid anymore!"
2. Learn to pray. There really is an all powerful God out there who cares for you and wants to help you.
Peace

ummm well here are some things i would try if i were you:
-a nightlight[i know it sounds kinda dorky but it helps]
-a extra pillow[after watching a scary movie i always sleep with another pillow and put it over my face when i get scared]
-music helps too[it gets you distracted and eventually you'll become so tired you'll just fall asleep]
-if you have a dog try sleeping with him/her[the dog will definately comfort you and calm your nerves]
-say a prayer[even if your not religious it helps]
