hey
i'm 13 and i'm not afraid of the dark, but darkness brings scary images into my mind which i won't describe for you. But if you really are scared of the dark, fall asleep with the lights on, and ask your mom to turn off the lights for you, assuming she doesn't say you have to be grown up. or, if she doens't want to, just try to block out the images with God!! (yea, go angel power.). no. jk. but seriosuly, god helps. and if you don't believe in god (you should!!), then just think of something to occupy your mind. maybe think about what your favorite pizza would be, and then think about how weird it is that you thinking aobut it. then think about how you thinking aobut things and how you want to stop thinking and go to sleep....
yes
ok
hope i helped, even though truthfully, my own techiniques didn't help myself. sometimes god hleps, but not all the time. i think he's trying to get me to trust him, and just fall asleep

You can get to the point that you are so exhausted you would fall asleep right away. Try reading or set your tv on a timer and watch something boring. You could make sure you go to bed before your parents, you may feel safer since the adults are still up. You could also sleep with the shades up then you can get light in your room by the street lights. Try some of these suggestions.

I'm an adult and I'm afraid of the dark too. I have a nightlight in my room and at bedtime I use a sound machine to block out all the creaks and noises that seem so much louder when the house is quiet. You could try turning a radio on very low as you're falling asleep; they have some with a timer so it will turn off automatically after a set amount of time. We all have our fears. It's ok to feel that way. Sometimes worrying about it will make it worse! Try the radio and the nightlight and see if that distraction doesn't help. :)

Listen it's no big deal. I would reccomend some counseling for it nothing too serious i was scared of the dark till I was 13 it's just one of those things. It's probably something stemming from when you were little something subconcious that you don't even remember, or you may have a phobia. Just talk to a councelor or therapist (but not the crappy school councelors) it's the best thing you can do.

first you should know that it is not abnormal to be afraid of the dark. I have a 14 yr old who has the same problem. Use a night light, they have so many decorative kinds now that pple will think it's just part of your room. Try talking to your parents or confide in a good friend. The more u talk about something that scares you, the smaller it gets :-)

buy a tv you can get local stations for free and use the volume, and light plus you'll feel better something about the room is uncomfortable to you so dont fret just spend more time in there if it is not apart ofthe house(built on or sticks out) that can cause it)

BOOO!!!!!
Did I scare you?
Try imagining that you fight this image and win the battle. keep a flash light by your bed, use a night light.
imagination can be an overpowering thing sometimes, but can be challenged by your own making of imagination as well. You also may want to try fung sue. the art of making your home, or room a good atmosphere by rearranging things to allow good chi in and bad chi out.
